Users agree with Gary Marcus that slowing frontier AI labs is a deliberate choice rather than impossible, criticizing labs for dishonest framing and unhelpful silence.

Anthropic, if they really believe what they say, should show some leadership:

If they won’t pause, even briefly, we have a different kind of answer about what is real and what is marketing.
Especially after the games they played with Mythos, it is time for them to put up or shut up.

@GaryMarcus It is impossible. Too many ppl vested into relentless growth. Too many ppl looking forward to epic “liquidity event”. The moment he gives signal they will slow down, he’s out or at least half the team jump ships
