@bindureddyHow Astra Beats Fable 5.1 - Make it 50% cheaper than Fable - Support zero-data-retention - Launch ASAP OpenAI can come back with a bang
@kimmonismusCrazy, I haven’t seen a single negative post about Astra. Not here, not on Reddit. Everyone’s praising its speed, token efficiency, intelligence, and ability to get things done. This might genuinely be OpenAI’s best release ever.
@AustenAstra both very good and way more efficient with tokens than I’d expect
@VictorTaelinso I asked both Fable and Astra to resync the Lean spec with the Bend.ts implementation, as it drifted over time. Fable updated the spec, added the missing features and completed the proof overnight. Astra misunderstood my prompt as if I wanted it to literally formalize everything on the TypeScript file, so it threw the formalization away and rebuilt it from scratch, including things like the parser and the CLI, which are completely irrelevant to the theory. so it burned a $500 on a completely irrelevant goal that I never asked for 🤦‍♂️ now, my prompt was pure garbage so I can't really blame Astra, but Fable had no trouble using common sense to grasp my intent. that said, like you all, I'm mind blown by some Astra outputs, it is obviously a leap and you don't need me to tell you that, but shit like this makes me very anxious about using any OAI model for work
@yacineMTBAstra is extremely fast, like, it's getting to the point where I can iterate with it versus having to be away from it because it's so slow. I like this better
@firstadopterThis is the big step function advance forward, my friends. "astra is *incredible* for anything that requires vision or computer use. no other model comes close"
@DanielleFongastra is so good, but, it takes work to get the best out of the model. you can't expect to oneshot.
@kwuchuAstra is another turning point in software development yet again. This is remarkably different, it has so much tenacity to get things done and it creates so many different kinds of scripts to validate that what is doing is correct. It's scaringly good at shipping quality code!
@seconds_0Astra is insane because it's the most terse and autistic model in the world and then it just kind of quietly does whatever miracles you're trying to get it to do. It doesn't feel like it's about to do something monumental as it kind of just quietly executes on literally whatever you give it. It's really, really strange.
@beffjezosFinally got time to vibe code with Astra today and it's so refreshing. Was starting to get disgusted by Claudish/Fableslop from past months. OpenAI absolutely cooked.
