More than half of surveyed men claimed to recognize fictional AI executives

WIRED reports that in a Harvard survey of more than 5,400 Americans, 53 percent of male respondents said they knew of three named AI figures. One, Mira Murati, is real; the other two were invented. Forty percent of women said they knew the two fictional names. The researchers also found that men and women answered AI questions incorrectly at around the same rate, though women more often said they weren’t sure.
