    TLDR

Tae Kim posted a plea asking mainstream media to interview Arm CEO Rene Haas. He stressed building the AI data center ecosystem inside the United States instead of China. Kim listed needed elements: advanced energy technology such as gas and solar, memory production, and AI infrastructure innovation. The post states that data centers are becoming a political issue. No comments from the CEO or other sources appear in the packet.

@firstadopterI plead with the mainstream media INTERVIEW ARM CEO RENE HAAS about how critical it is to build the AI data center ecosystem in the United States NOT in China. We need to build advanced energy technology (gas/solar), memory, AI infra tech innovation base HERE. "[Tae Kim:]Data centers are becoming a political issue. To me, that seems to be the main risk over the next year for the AI infrastructure trade, not demand. What are your thoughts? [Rene Haas:] I think calling them data centers versus AI factories has not done us justice. Because they are factories. They produce tokens. And what do factories do? Factories produce jobs for people building the factories. They produce jobs for people who work in the factories. And probably what we’ve really not done a very good job articulating is they produce jobs for the ecosystem around those factories. That ecosystem is not just what supplies into them today, but what could supply into them tomorrow, whether it’s around advanced gas engines, whether it’s around solar, whether it’s around different kinds of memory. If that were all to go offshore and then this is the classic Apple in China. Why is it so difficult to move smartphone production out of China? It’s not just the Foxconn factory, but it’s everybody in that supply chain that feeds the factory. I worry that if the rhetoric around these data centers gets so strong that people don’t want them built in the United States. We will lose the opportunity to field yet another great ecosystem around production factories in this country. I think the ecosystem part really gets underplayed."
