Anthropic and a16z open first offices in Japan

Anthropic and a16z opened their first offices outside the United States in Japan. The moves follow public discussion of Japan's manufacturing base and robotics sector as assets for moving AI systems into physical deployment. LightCell Energy CEO Danielle Fong stated that Japan's permissive fair use rules for training data represent the stronger factor attracting these companies.
