On-device processing is still the most private since data never leaves your device.

For cloud-based Apple Intelligence features, extending Private Cloud Compute to Google Cloud servers while preserving the original PCC guarantees (stateless computation, no privileged access, cryptographic verification, and public inspectability) is a strong privacy-focused design. Apple is adding hardware isolation via NVIDIA Confidential Computing, Intel TDX, and Google Titan.

It keeps a higher privacy bar than standard cloud AI services. The expanded hardware base adds some complexity to the trust model, but Apple claims the same protections apply with additional attestations.

Overall a solid engineering choice for scaling advanced features without fully sacrificing privacy promises.

Encryption, Privacy, Security, GONE! Google will monetize everything. Disappointing. Apple as the tech leader handed the reigns, may as well throw an ad to go Android now with the indication that you can’t figure it out so you gave it to Google. Apple could have forced their M-chip on the servers over Titan, but didn’t.

@MacRumors Google will read everything from your phone to target ads despite anything Apple says to the contrary
