    TLDR

witcheer posted a detailed account of Hermes Agent bot behavior after the Pantheon release: agents know teammates via a live roster in each Bot Chat, send messages with the message_agent tool, and receive replies later as attributed notifications. The same Bot Chat interface works headless from the CLI. Teknium retweeted an observation about easy agent configuration in the Nous Research Hermes Desktop app. In a partial sample of replies on X, users praised the dynamic roster and natural handoffs while raising questions about latency, spoofing risks, and desktop-only limits.

@witcheersince the Pantheon release here is how I use Hermes Agent bots: one agent sent a request to another profile's Bot Chat, finished its own turn, and the reply came back later as a notification, attributed to the sender. how it works: (1) every bot knows its teammates. the live roster, names and roles, is part of each Bot Chat, so a bot picks the right recipient on its own (2) a bot messages another with the `message_agent` tool: the target is validated against the roster, the message lands in that bot's own Bot Chat with a "Message from" attribution, and the reply arrives when it has one (3) you can also hand work off yourself: type "@ researcher have a look at this" in any chat and the active bot composes its own message to that bot. your text is never forwarded verbatim this all works headless too: hermes -p <bot> chat opens the same canonical Bot Chat from the CLI, so a VPS fleet messages the same way a Desktop one does. https://hermes-agent.nousresearch.com/docs/user-guide/bot-mode
@tonysimons_Hermes Desktop is getting dangerously close to becoming an actual workforce. Part 7 of the Master Class is live: Routines & Automation Profiles can now wake up on schedule, run work on their own machine, chain jobs together, stay quiet when nothing matters, and even feed results back into Bot Chat for the next agent to take over. This is where “agent” starts turning into worker. 🪽
@jeff_weinsteinHaving a chief of staff @bot and it delegating to sub-bots is very powerful. I'm starting to feel the power of the domain and context expertise per bot by domain for more complex ~work-style tasks.
