ControlAI reportedly helped shape US and UK superintelligence ban bills

A post says ControlAI is behind Bernie Sanders and Greg Casar's US bill to ban superintelligence development. It also credits the group with drafting a UK “kill switch” amendment introduced by Lord Tim Clement-Jones and a superintelligence ban bill introduced by Alex Sobel.

The post says ControlAI briefed nearly 200 congressional offices, more than 20 members of the US Senate and House, and over 180 cross-party UK parliamentarians. It describes the group's “A Narrow Path” proposal as calling for a 20-year AI pause to build defenses and says Jaan Tallinn funds the group.
