    TLDR

Herbie Bradley notes AI represents a distinct intelligence shape from humans, requiring a paradigm shift beyond capability scaling to achieve full integration visions. Yu Su concurs that AGI labor could integrate more readily than human labor into companies but stresses the absence of continual learning solutions needed for human-level job performance across roles. Both comments respond to claims of rapid AGI diffusion modeled on skilled immigration patterns, underscoring unresolved technical barriers in the field.

@herbiebradleyI think this is correct but doesn't really engage with the fact that AI is currently, even if you extrapolate out to many times greater capabilities, a different shape of intelligence than humans. I think we're rapidly approaching the point where we need to posit some kind of paradigm shift to get to the full vision you're sketching. Of course, LLMs of next year will nonetheless deploy themselves more easily due to increased capabilities on trend
@ysu_nlpagree that at some point, "it will be far easier to integrate AGI labor into companies than human labor", but that assumes AGI labor can continually learn on any job to reach human-level performance. unfortunately, the field doesn't have a solution for such continual learning yet, and i'm worried we are not even scaling the right dimension to get there. this technical uncertainly is blocking faster diffusion. also the same answer to the question "how do highly-skilled, experienced, and entrepreneurial immigrant humans manage to integrate into the economy immediately?"
@elonmusk@dwarkesh_sp AI is already superhuman at many things. We are in the singularity.
