Sub-$500 robotics toys could let high-schoolers try reinforcement learning, a user says
One post argues that cheap, standardized hardware and modern reinforcement learning could accelerate robotics progress. It predicts post-training and recursive improvement will become the bottleneck again once the data problem is partly solved.
TLDR
One user praises the microduck platform and argues that robotics toys costing less than $500 could let high-school students experiment with cutting-edge reinforcement learning (RL). A related post suggests cheap, standardized hardware paired with modern RL could accelerate progress faster than people expect. It argues that once the data problem is partly solved, post-training and recursive improvement become the real bottleneck again.
