TLDR

PrimeIntellect says it used over 2,000 agents across two weeks to rewrite its open-source Prime Agent in Rust. The company says it used parity checks and independent review to preserve the TypeScript version's behavior. It reports roughly 13× faster time to usable input and 83% less startup memory than before. The release also includes native Windows support in beta and Homebrew installation.

Prime Intellect@PrimeIntellectA root agent divided the rewrite into tasks and tracked their dependencies. Each task ran through its own state machine: Planner → Implementer → Reviewer → Verifier Each implementation had to pass an independent review and verification in a fresh Prime Sandbox before it could merge, with failed checks returning the task to the implementer. Tasks could run in parallel without skipping these checks.1h
Seth Karten@sethkartenAgent swarms turn software work into dependency graphs and state machines. We limit-tested this by having Prime Agent automate its own Rust rewrite. Now enjoy one of the fastest CLI agents :)1h

kevin@kevinjosethomasThis has been insanely fun to work on for the past couple weeks! This rewrite tested the limits of all our products: thousands of subagents via Prime Agent, billions of tokens via Prime Inference, and hundreds of sandboxes via Prime Sandboxes! It's incredibly rewarding to see our full stack come together, and Prime Agent is now faster than ever :)1h
