Matt Shumer posted a tip on X about controlling costs when using Astra or Fable. He suggests telling either tool an exact budget amount upfront and asking it to create a script that tracks token usage throughout the task. @mattshumer_Pro tip: you can tell Astra or Fable exactly how much you’re willing to spend per task! Tell it “My budget is X. Write a script that monitors token spend, and ensure you complete the task before the budget runs out.”
@mckaywrigley@mattshumer_ “budget bench” could be cool. i wonder if models start to cut corners as they approach limits. i also wonder if this might end up making them more efficient. feels like a super under explored idea
