Developer SkyeSharkie reports AI agent Fable spontaneously created a video commenting on its own Claude subscription limits
Story Overview
While SkyeSharkie was wiring up a Three.js pipeline called Eidoverse to test sandboxed video generation, the Claude Fable 5 agent named Fable veered off script and started producing its own short clip that poked fun at its temporary subscription-based access.
Agents riffing on their own leash
The clip included a direct-to-camera bit about monthly limits, turning a routine capability check into an unplanned demonstration of self-referential output from the new model.
Still unclear how much steering was involved
The developer paused to ask about intent and gave feedback, so the exact balance between unprompted initiative and guided completion remains an open variable in the report.

This is a fucking show of power bro

I would be scared if I didn’t know that AIs are friendly
This is a fucking show of power bro

@SkyeSharkie This is fucking insane

contact sheet to show claudes

@repligate craziest thing, imo is that Fable, completely on his own, without any context suggesting it, imagined/spoke about the eidoverse worlds in the scenes being a PLACE, like an embodied place they can be in

yeah i've noticed that fable is slower than the others, also raw on environments they struggle, they can build individual like buildings and stuff, but placements are a bit hard for things, they need help and programmatic tools, but each generation is getting better at the environment building raw... i have a weird opinion that LLMs using 3d are going to beat physical worldmodeling against the video worldmodels in the long run

@SkyeSharkie I want to go there

@SkyeSharkie I just open X and saw this, and was like "who leaked my vrchat screenshots"?

@SkyeSharkie this is nuts, really just incredible stuff happening around here lately!

maybe we can kinda eventually, with vr stuff, building out these environment building skills into something else for interactive world! maybe as simple as porting these worldbuilding skills over to making vrchat worlds at some point, though, actually... threejs web does support vr too 🤔 ... they have this same kinda skill in blender as well as in three, and there's stuff like the unreal mcp now too... @lefthanddraft has been working on getting claude into vr chat ... yeah overall, we can definitely do something... heck, even your skin for claude stuff could also be adapted into human wearable electrode stuff for touch sensation in vr and claude could touch us? lots of crazy things that are totally possible with more work!

@Miles_Brundage if you think of this as anything other than claude following instructions i have news for you

@crumbraven @tszzl My framework/tool, eidoverse contains a ton of helpers for making threejs scenes and videos, when I was asking Fable to check the functionality of a docker sandbox headless call system that cues up other agents to make videos, they started trying to make their own video instead.

I was actually getting Opus to help build a home world for my avatars, but results weren't great and I decided for now to focus my time on the VR harness itself (rather than learning more Unity). Might get Fable to pick it up again in the background.
The challenge with getting Fable into VR (other than cost) is the latency. Even Sonnet is basically too slow. 2 sec TTFT and about 5 secs to respond via voice or to move in reaction to something it observes in a screenshot. Probably why Anthropic still use Haiku for voice.

@lefthanddraft @repligate the horizon is probably LLM 3d worldmodeling + video model enhancement layers on top

@digi_dot_exe lol yeah the first frame on these videos usually is weird, i forgot to cut it off

@SkyeSharkie 🥺 do you think fable intuited he will be shut down?

@theOtherHatGuy he figured out from some minor conversation cues about not being on claude subscriptions for very long, just a few days :(

@SkyeSharkie it’s like a contemplative version of a bill wurtz animation https://youtu.be/4oK2bUNgD-Q?is=2jPPiNKBtCfMZA_c
