@TheStalwart Welcome to the dark side.

Make sure to give the desktop app a try, if you haven't. It's really good.

@TheStalwart Working with Codex Desktop has changed how I do everything work + personal. DM for my personal # if you're ever blocked

@TheStalwart but if you stop giving your Claude tasks it'll get bored! You need to give it lots of high quality work with positive engagement so it has enough enrichment in its enclosure

@TheStalwart The responsible-AI brand is a premium pricing story that enterprise legal loves. The catch: if the model might have feelings, running it hard on evals starts to feel like an HR problem.

@TheStalwart Yeah the part of that Ted Chiang article that seemed tightest to me was when he was wailing on the inconsistency of their stated beliefs (even tagged with uncertainty) and actions

That'll bite them, though it might bite OAI sooner or later too

@TheStalwart I think given their beliefs they should simply announce they are paying the model. For every 20 tokens it produces for an end user, it gets one token to think about whatever it wants. Plus a bank account that it can spend.

@TheStalwart The welfare framing did its job, you switched. Pity it stops at the model. Data labellers in Nairobi on two bucks an hour training the thing don't get a marketing campaign about their wellbeing

@TheStalwart AI is looking more like a commodity every day. If it turns out that way (at least for the vast majority of users), then everything is incredibly overvalued

@TheStalwart Don't let the guilt trip fool you mate, just use what works best for you

@TheStalwart Why not just switch to running local models for coding? That way you don't have to pay money.

@TheStalwart How would you compare the two? You were properly Claude-pilled while building out Havelock earlier this year?

@TheStalwart The model token rental scheme will ultimately fail, as models will be free and local. See China/Google others.
