Kevin Bass@kevinnbassGoal of Anthropic and OpenAI doomers is to force legislation making it illegal to use open-source models on the grounds they are dangerous, forcing everyone to use only theirs. Robert Scoble@ScobleizerSan Francisco is a cult town. That is where my mom joined one. Will you eat the red pill or the blue one? Open source and local leads to freedom. But we all know using the latest from OpenAI or Anthropic codes and develops critical things better. Or flies that do funny things. This week I talked with a few who were in San Francisco for the open source summit. They are working hard to catch up. Catching an exponentially learning system is hard. Open source means nerds can work together to keep the big companies from taking all the pie.26d
