Yes, you can. The desktop app and the gateway are separate pieces, so you can install just the app on your laptop and point it at the Hermes instance running on your Mac mini.

That's the whole reason the gateway setup exists. Your laptop becomes a thin client, all the agent work stays on the Mac mini.

@akshay_pachaar I am facing two issues with the Hermes Desktop macOS version:

1. I am unable to use Ollama models through the interface. 2. I am unable to install updates. Whenever I click the Update button, the app simply closes and nothing else happens.

@akshay_pachaar the three-tier memory chapter is the one to watch for. most desktop agent setups nail tier 1 (in-session) and skip tier 3 (long-term). the crash test is when you find out which tier 2 actually is.
