OfficeChai reports that Amazon, JPMorgan Chase and Charles Schwab are restricting outside AI agents, but the limits differ by company and task. Its Oct. 18 report describes Amazon's block on Meta's Muse while noting that Amazon had not confirmed a Grok-specific block.
For the banks, the issue is agents acting on customer accounts. OfficeChai cites Schwab CEO Rick Wurster's comments to Bloomberg about blocking unauthorized agents trying to move client money. It also reports that JPMorgan blocks external agents from operating retail accounts, while allowing read-only balance access through providers such as Plaid.
Delta told TechCrunch it had no third-party booking integration and was still evaluating external agents. OfficeChai's account likewise distinguishes that position from an announced outright block.
A user sharing OfficeChai's report asked how companies identify agents. Greg Isenberg's commentary looks further ahead, predicting that a trusted intermediary for agent identity and payments will eventually become the standard route in.
