    TLDR

@bayeslord posted that the expected power of AI makes politics unlikely to shape near-term development timelines. He compared its role to the stronger pull of state incentives and influence. The pseudonymous account, identified in the post as one of four anonymous co-founders of the effective accelerationism movement, added that top labs banding together might limit that state pressure. The single post offers no further details on timing or specific labs involved.

@bayeslordgiven the expected future power of ai it seems reasonable to guess that politics: the video game may not be a determining factor in near term outcomes around what gets built and when, particularly when compared to the influence and incentives of the state. one potential mitigating factor is if the top labs band together in favor of prudence, which it seems they are. one possible risk to this strategy which I wrote about a while ago is that the labs develop full auto ai r&d, and in the event of a disagreement with the state, they realize they have marginalized themselves out of the process of ai's ongoing development. many paths where you can suddenly find your datacenters are dpa'd
