A personal estimate puts the chance of AI threatening human survival in the next decade above 10%

A September 29 post says Anthropic alignment researcher Evan Hubinger personally believes there’s a greater than 10% chance AI could threaten human survival within the next decade. The post calls it an estimate of extreme risk, not a prediction that humanity will be wiped out, and asks whether AI safety work can keep pace with increasingly capable systems.
