    TLDR

A user calls for rethinking the economics of art and entertainment, arguing that AI’s gains have done little for artists. Their tentative proposal: let fans back artists they believe in—even after seeing only a little of their work—and receive a share of their growth. The post floats tokenized music royalties and fan-owned songs, with Patreon as a possible prototype for direct support.

@schisofreniain LA to visit various artist friends and it is sad how little vast gains from AI have done for artists and the economics of art/entertainment and a new economic engine for art should truly be prioritized and rethought from the ground up i suspect that the notion of tokenized music royalties/fan owned songs was directionally correct; if you personally believe an artist has potential (even from only a small sample size of their work!) to you should be able to support them directly (Patreon is somewhat the prototype for this?) and get shares of their growth. or something
