Astra Refuses Numerical Scores on Governance Stories

Seth Lazar posted about testing automated curation for his lab newsletter using Astra. He described the tool refusing to assign numerical scores to governance and policy stories. In a follow-up post he listed examples of affected stories such as CISA program closures, AI pause proposals, and FRONTIER Act disclosures. He called the behavior interesting and an illustration of algorithmic governance risks while noting he is investigating and expects to work around it.
