Just under a month after Kobe Bryant — along with his daughter Gianna and seven others — was killed in a helicopter crash, thousands of people filled the Staples Center in Los Angeles for a tribute to his life.

Among the speakers was Michael Jordan, who tearfully spoke of his close relationship to Bryant, Bryant's passion for the game, and his family:

Vanessa Bryant, Kobe's wife, shared a heartfelt message about Gianna Bryant, their daughter, and how her relationship with Kobe blossomed over the years.

"Gigi would've become the best player in the WNBA."

"This is a sad day but it's also a celebration of life. Of their lives and of life itself in the building where those of us who are Lakers fans and Kobe fans celebrated so many of the best times of our lives."
