Cosplayer Belle Delphine — who boasts over 3.5 million Instagram followers, many of them apparently lascivious teenagers — posted a quid pro quo arrangement for her fans on her account on Sunday: if a provocative photo she posted garnered a million likes she would create a Pornhub account. "The time has officially come," she wrote.

The pornographic video streaming service was onboard as well, commenting "This is the best news I've heard all year."

Delphine's post quickly amassed the required million likes and she soon made good on her promise. "Well… i made it! SCROLL RIGHT TO SEE! The account name is BelleDelphine," she wrote. "There are 12 videos to watch!……so…..what do you think?? :)"

But the videos were not quite what her fans had in mind. While the videos had pornographic titles, the videos Delphine posted involved perfectly safe-for-work activities like making a "pie" with whipped cream or eating a photo of PewDiePie.

Some of Delphine's fans were devastated by the prank and commented that she had broken their trust. Tech and internet reporter Taylor Lorenz captured some of the most deranged:

"Belle Delphine's gamer card has officially been taken away and she will no longer be excepted (sic) in our culture any longer," one forlorn fan posted.

"She has broken people's hearts and destroyed their dignity. The only apology we will accept is real videos and not these fake f*cking lies."

"We have been hoodwinked, bamboozled, led astray, runamuck, and flat out deceived," another posted.

Others were quite amused, like YouTuber Philip DeFranco.

Maybe it's time to turn the internet off for a day. Or forever.
