Amazon layoffs may have shut down what remains of Comixology
Reportedly, much of the remaining staff of Comixology was caught up in Amazon's 16,000 person layoffs yesterday. Amazon's recent layoffs, which affected 16,000 employees, may have also impacted the remaining staff of Comixology, according to reports. While there is no official confirmation from Amazon, it is said that the remaining US staff was either immediately terminated or given until April as an end date. Comixology, which was co-founded in 2007 and acquired by Amazon in 2014, has been a major player in the digital comics industry. However, recent changes, including the integration of Comixology into Kindle and complaints about the platform's functionality, have raised concerns about the future of the service.
