Countries Where The Youth Are Most Unhappy Compared To Older Adults, Ranked

This year's World Happiness Report, which scores how content a country's people are out of 10, has highlighted how drastically happiness can vary by age group.

Lithuania is home to the happiest people under 30, while older people are most satisfied with their lives in Denmark โ€” but where is the biggest gap between young and old citizens' happiness?

In the below chart, Visual Capitalist ranked the world's countries based on whose youth are most unhappy compared to older generations.

The largest happiness gap overall is seen in Mauritius, where older adults rank 28th in the world for happiness, while young people rank just 85th. Following behind is the US, with a gap of 52, and Canada, with a gap of 50.
