          Frankly, I have no particular love affair with Microsoft (two, and soon three, will be Linux based) but I truly can't stand Sony. The whole "Sony rootkit" affair was the last straw in a whole heapin' pile of 'em. I've boycotted their goods ever since and haven't looked back.

          Having said that, if I were to buy a console (a BIG "if" that is unlikely to occur in this generation of consoles), I'd probably go with a 360 simply because the games for the Wii are just *too* casual oriented for my taste. If it weren't so, I'd very likely choose the latter instead.

          In any case, my original comment, to vinht426 from above, was part tongue-in-cheek, part not. I actually think you'd have to be an idiot *before* you bought the Sony. Otherwise, it is a bit like a fat chick--fun to ride until your friends see you on it.

      After many months of anticipation I finally got my copy of Bioshock and played through it over the past few days. There are many things to like about Bioshock such as the graphics (not animation), parts of the story and the water effects. That’s about where the good stuff ends.

      First let me say how excited I was for the game after playing the demo on the 360. While the animation seemed stiff and you could tell the 360 was being pushed too hard it still looked like it had a lot of potential. So imagine my disappointment when I got the final version only to find none of the animation hitches, shooting glitches and AI was cleaned up. I also wonder how much better the graphics would’ve been had they not been compressed to fit on a DVD. Now I do not fault the developers for this, they only had so much system power to work with so maybe this will all be addressed with the PS3 version when it comes out.

      To conclude, let this game cook in the oven just a little bit longer and wait for the superior PS3 version. Cleaned up textures, animations, AI, extra weapons, Home space, standard HDD and Blu-ray will make this flawed game into a perfect gem.

I haven't played the full game yet (I will) but so far it's just heavy textures, lots of bumpmaps and a load of other "check to apply" 3D-effects that come natural with most 3D-engines nowadays. Sure, they checked "on" most 3D-features, but that just doesn't make a game a 10 out of 10, for me. Story-wise.. it's another zombie infested city (except they don't call the zombies "zombies", they're mutated baddies now), this time under water. It's a lot of connected hallways with monsters spawning in dark corners, usually from predictable triggered events.

      That hasn't been unique since Wolfenstein 3D, Doom and Quake 1.. really. Come on.

      AGAIN: This opinion solely from DEMO EXPERIENCES!

      PS3 is not getting the game , MS made a deal with 2k games to have the game exclusive to Games for windows and xbox360. And based on the sales it will recieve on both of those fronts , MS will throw more money their way to secure the exclusive further.

      Now on to your review… Im going to have to say it sucks. Bioshock is by far the best single player FPS experiance ever created. This is evident in the number of reviews that it has recieved giving it 10’s and high 9’s by every site that reviews it.
      Sadly , the PS3 lacks games that are worth a ***** and wont have games until mid 2008

      As for this ***** website , its pretty disgusting! but based on your logic , it could be even better if the webmaster had it running on a ps3 and really put effort into working with the cell.

      So im going to have to leave now , just wanted to pop in and kick you in the nuts for being so incredibly ***** retarded

      "After many months of anticipation I finally got my copy of Bioshock and played through it over the past few days. There are many things to like about Bioshock such as the graphics (not animation), parts of the story and the water effects. That’s about where the good stuff ends.

      First let me say how excited I was for the game after playing the demo on the 360. While the animation seemed stiff and you could tell the 360 was being pushed too hard it still looked like it had a lot of potential. So imagine my disappointment when I got the final version only to find none of the animation hitches, shooting glitches and AI was cleaned up. I also wonder how much better the graphics would’ve been had they not been compressed to fit on a DVD. Now I do not fault the developers for this, they only had so much system power to work with so maybe this will all be addressed with the PS3 version when it comes out.

      To conclude, let this game cook in the oven just a little bit longer and wait for the superior PS3 version. Cleaned up textures, animations, AI, extra weapons, Home space, standard HDD and Blu-ray will make this flawed game into a perfect gem.

Next 12 months are going to be knee deep in good games. Unfortunately I can't buy them all, gonna be on Halo3.. Bioshock will keep peeps busy til end of Sept.

Take that as you may but if you ask me that means that next year Madden 09 will be running at 60fps on both systems. And yes, it can be done. Sony's internal studios has NBA 08 running at 60fps. Yes, this game sucks but it is running at 60fps so it can be done. Speaking of 60fps, Infinity Ward, makers of the Game of the Year (and will probably be played just as much as Halo 3 on XBL) Call of Duty 4, stated that CoD4 on the PS3 WILL run at 60fps with full anti-aliasing.
      The whole "Madden looks better" is a short lived victory for 360 fans.
      Here's another fanboy comment to piss off 360 fans:
      KILLZONE 2 ON PS3 LOOKS BETTER THAN HALO 3 (truth be told, Gears of War looks better than Halo 3). Will K2 sell as many copies as Halo 3? Almost certainly not but I think it'll be a more interesting and original game to play versus the worn out storyline of Halo.

  • konard, on 10/10/2007, -8/+3The game is great on 360 no doubt about it. If/when it comes to PS3 the value with be lower as its not as "new" anymore. I am also a Playstation fan, but as a gamer its a 8-9-10/10 atleast. (I have only played the demo).

This is the wave of the future... If you want to play a game, 90% of the time you better have the right platform for it or you won't be playing it.
