- deaftly, on 06/02/2009, -1/+20Because all you ***** do is trash talk microsoft
- ethanator1088, on 06/01/2009, -9/+27Why not DIGG?
- inv1ctus, on 06/02/2009, -9/+25Native apps for facebook, last.fm, and Twitter? yay?
How about a browser instead and let me be the judge of which sites I want to traverse. - Shaderone, on 06/02/2009, -1/+10That is exactly what they're doing.
- RegalBegal, on 06/02/2009, -2/+11Uhh you can play Xvid files on the 360.
- Secretion, on 06/02/2009, -1/+9So that you can Digg articles which you can't read without a browser?
- Charlie1er, on 06/02/2009, -2/+9.....ok, we get it, it's the 4th digg tread about Tweeter and Facebook on xbox since yesterday
- TheBEST205, on 06/02/2009, -1/+7Or you could simply walk to your computer that's 5 feet away and use a keyboard and Firefox to efficiently traverse the web.
- CLShortFuse, on 06/02/2009, -1/+6When people complained about how the 360 didn't have web browser, the response was "Who needs a web browser when most people have a computer 10 ft away?" So now apply that to this.
- Mike17102, on 06/02/2009, -2/+7Except that PS Home sucks, and was a sad copy of XBL to begin with. In fact just about everything Sony did this generation was a sad copy of either the 360 or the Wii. Those pathetic motion controls? LOL, please.
- mason092, on 06/02/2009, -2/+7Fifty two.
- TonyCubed, on 06/02/2009, -5/+10While I see that a lot of people would be laughing about Facebook or Twitter integration, that doesn't excuse the fact that it will be a success.
- inactive, on 06/01/2009, -7/+11When you see an older original Xbox modified running XBMC, you really dont see such a big deal in getting Last.fm. Essentially you can stream out any shoutcast compatible station, which numbers in the tens of thousands.
- judahhertz, on 06/02/2009, -0/+3Yeah, Youtube really needs to be including.
- gingerboy, on 06/02/2009, -1/+4what will be cool is FB connect posting updates directly, say who won the last game of pro evo between you and your mate, if you hit a decent killing streak in modern combat, or even just take a screenshot of a multiplayer frag fest results screen and post to FB etc etc
Also showing your FB friends pics in the front room to the familly, I know they could gather round the pc, or you could just save em and use the standard xbox pictures facility but this deffo fills a gap, weather you 'need' it or not (and who actually 'needs' any of this, we 'want' it cos its gimicky and cool) - spoon088, on 06/02/2009, -0/+2Fantastic news for any individuals who own a working 360, have internet connection, and no computer whatsoever. The least likely of these being a 360 that is RROD'd.
- Kidsturk, on 06/02/2009, -1/+3How can partnerships with websites be better than access to the whole internet?
It's a tiny window on a huge vista (sorry).
Don't get me wrong, I'm wowed by MS's reveals yesterday, but come on, this is meager fare compared to a functional browser. - pcollins08, on 06/02/2009, -3/+5its weird how they just keep adding unnecessary things. the netflix was great, but why would i ever need facebook, twitter, and last.fm on live?
- akabigbro, on 06/02/2009, -2/+4Sh...
PS3 already connects to these services and you don't have to pay a monthly fee.
Lemmings. - thericksta, on 06/02/2009, -0/+2Seriously, I've been doing all this stuff on my PS3 for years. It's not the best browser, obviously, especially before the flash update. But I can still watch Hulu and Youtube from my living room. I'll count that as a win.
- nanowerx, on 06/03/2009, -0/+2Last.fm is awesome. Why is it such a bad idea to have internet radio on the 360? I most certainly have my tv and xbox hooked up to a much better sound system than my computer, so why not?
- johnomaz, on 06/02/2009, -1/+3I have both consoles and play my 360 way more than my PS3. As for the RRoD, I've only had it once and to be honest, who gives a *****.
- removesstains, on 06/02/2009, -2/+4I'll never use any of this, i dont even do any of this stuff on my PS3 or Wii and they have built in browsers. Now i get buried.
- JudgeMonkey, on 06/02/2009, -0/+2I never said that, but I do say that just giving us a few things instead of just a browser is dumb.
Not everyone has a pc 10 feet from their console. - gingerboy, on 06/02/2009, -2/+3update your dam 360 man!!
- kingp, on 06/02/2009, -3/+4How about the fact that Full HD movies and tv shows (in 5.1 surround) can be downloaded to Xbox from Zune, with near instantaneous playback? That (to me) is a helluva lot more interesting than Twitter, Facebook and Last.fm on Xbox.
- sillymeganlee, on 06/02/2009, -1/+2porntube, porntube, portube!
- hmunkey, on 06/03/2009, -0/+1Did you see ***** Splinter Cell Conviction?
It's basically "Badass: The Game" and it's going to be a crapload of fun.
They're making game announcements too. - harrisbradley, on 06/02/2009, -0/+1I would've thought we would be able to download (stream ideally) all the revision3 shows by now. What's the hold up squad? Maybe we'll get RSS downloads with the new Zune integration, probably not though
- gingerboy, on 06/04/2009, -0/+1was going to say more but cant be assed........what a *****!
- styx31989, on 06/02/2009, -0/+1I do agree that I'd rather do facebook related stuff on my computer, but I'm not gonna complain about extra features I don't have to use :)
- TheBEST205, on 06/02/2009, -0/+1Yay for DOOM!
- Mtown, on 06/03/2009, -0/+1Wait, can't the PS3 and Wii already do that (look at facebook pics on a TV) with the web browser?
And the instant I see one of my friends posting status updates indicating who won what game or posts an album called "Halo 3 Screenshots", I'm going to instantly defriend them.
If you REALLY feel the need to post crap like that, you need less facebook friends and more real friends. - Pxtl, on 06/02/2009, -3/+4Umm, this is news? I mean, I can do most of that stuff on my Wii, and I'm usually the first in line with the "my wii is collecting dust" complaints. Web browser?
- haleym, on 06/02/2009, -1/+2Great - can't wait for the app that auto-tweets every time someone gets a kill in COD/Halo/whatever:
"OMG Loser369 just scored a HEAD SHOT in a Halo 5 deathmatch!! Click HERE to brag to all your friends about your killer Halo pwnage via Twitter!!" - styx31989, on 06/02/2009, -0/+1and why should it be related to gaming only? Adding other functions does not hinder being able to play games on it.
- CHIPstick5, on 06/02/2009, -0/+1I hope all of this will be available in the UK, sometimes they miss them out (UK video store was awful for some time after launch)
- rblancarte, on 06/02/2009, -1/+2I don't know. I see it as a very minor thing that they are adding here. Maybe I don't see the bigger picture (ie, a friend is browsing Facebook, sees that I am playing something and decides to join me). But right now, I don't see a huge impact from this.
- seroevo, on 06/02/2009, -0/+1I have a computer that can twitter, facebook, youtube, and look at porn. In fact, I'm using one now.
Though I can understand how some people cant get off the couch to reach a PC. Fatties. - whySoSrS, on 06/02/2009, -1/+2What's the point of updating your Facebook/Twitter on Xbox? Everyone knows you're playing games all the time...
- dronkmunk, on 06/02/2009, -0/+1^ Nice avatar, jerk ;)
- JudgeMonkey, on 06/02/2009, -1/+1Exactly, so why the hell not just give us a browser instead.
Also, someone probably said this already, but c'mon, let us use last.fm while playing a game. It doesn't look like you can. - audreysee, on 06/02/2009, -2/+2How is this feature going to help Xbox?
- styx31989, on 06/02/2009, -1/+1except it's NOT going to in some virtual 3d world.
Now if only Nintendo WOULD copy Sony or Microsoft, and get better 3rd party games more often. - Squirgle, on 06/02/2009, -0/+0They support all the main ones. Much better than the WMV only they had at launch. It's great to DL TV shows, throw them on a USB stick or NAS and play them on my 360 on ma big TV.
- Elranzer, on 06/02/2009, -1/+1Don't get me wrong, I'm not in FAVOR of PS Home at all. I find it rather pathetic, actually.
It just seems that Microsoft has been copying Nintendo and Sony all this generation (avatars and EyeToy), and Sony copying Microsoft and Nintendo (motion controls and trophies). It just seemed inevitable that Microsoft would want some kind of SecondLife-type world for the Avatars to live in.
Seems like the only one not copying anyone this gen was Nintendo. - reaper527, on 06/02/2009, -1/+1so that i can browse websites with an interface that is clunky and doesn't support adblocking? i'll keep my web browsing on my computer thank you very much. bring USEFUL features to the 360, not a webbrowser.
how often does anyone use the web browser on a wii or a ps3? its a useless feature - Curbe, on 06/04/2009, -0/+0You, good sir, are an idiot.
- migitalwarfare, on 06/02/2009, -1/+1The only thing I see useful with this update is the Netflix queue management. If I can manage my queue on my iphone with any number of 3rd party apps, there's no reason why I shouldn't be able to do the same on the 360 when Microsoft already has the Netflix support implemented, and Netflix already allowed for queue management outside of their site. I'm a little confused why it wasn't included with the initial launch of the Netflix client, but I'm glad I no longer need to use a computer to update my queue when I don't actually use my computer to do instant streaming in the first place.
