- unicronband, on 04/08/2008, -3/+135"The biggest parts of their marketing materials outline how easy it would be for third parties to port their Wii games to the 360."
Yes, because we all know how the selling point of the Wii is their fabulous line of 3rd party games. I can just imagine how well Cooking Mama would appeal to the Halo demographic. - MasterPlayer, on 04/08/2008, -10/+84You still won't be able to play Super Mario Galaxy, Zelda, Metroid Prime and SSBB. I didn't buy the Wii for it's controller, I bought it for its games.
- xxgigavirusxx, on 04/08/2008, -4/+62And its going to cost...
70 dollars.. with support from 2 games the whole life of the 360 console
I can see it now - mindstyle1, on 04/08/2008, -5/+58Actually this one was posted first, the other one looks like it's trying to hijack
- Dumbledorito, on 04/08/2008, -17/+67I've had a Wii for almost a year now, and by and large, the Wiimote is a gimmick. There are several games that would be a better experience if you could just substitute a regular NES or Gamecube controller for the flicks and swipes that don't do much but make the game more difficult and less accurate. Some games do take advantage of the Wiimote ("No More Heroes" does a pretty good job), but the majority could do without it.
- BrandonMills, on 04/08/2008, -5/+54It's an add-on. It's doomed to a insanely small market share. You aren't forcing the developers to use it, thus, they won't use it. This is the way system add-ons tend to go. Furthermore, given the Wii's market share, why on Earth would you make a game with these type of controls specifically for a console with a much lower installed user base.
I can see a case for it if they bundled it with their next new console. Hopefully MS will realize that fixing the RROD is much higher on the 360 gamers priority list. - inactive, on 04/08/2008, -5/+47Actually I beat both by 70+ days: http://digg.com/nintendo/Microsoft_Plans_Motion_Se ...

... - smacksaw, on 04/08/2008, -10/+43Major differences include a numerical LCD to monitor processor core temperatures and a super-compressed and miniaturised Halon tank for emergency fire suppression.
COME ON FANBOYS. You know you chuckled at that. - inactive, on 04/08/2008, -14/+40monkey see monkey do. They should mimic the failure rate of the wii instead of its remote.
- jgoldner, on 04/08/2008, -3/+26Hate to give them credit, but it sure looks like MTV had it first (the sketch is watermarked by MTV)
- cr4wl3r, on 04/08/2008, -10/+30MTV.com? Come on guys... are you serious?
- newbis, on 04/08/2008, -4/+22I'll agree with you that the wiimote was gimmicky for a long time. It seemed like games were just tossing it in for ****s and giggles. But newer games do an awesome job with the wiimote. Albeit, they are mostly Nintendo's games (Metroid, Mario Galaxy, SSBB, etc), but they show that it can be done. It reminds me of when the Nintendo DS first came out and every game required you to draw and clap and make as ass of yourself. But later they came up with games like Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and Rune Factory.
- Sedako, on 04/08/2008, -9/+27Metroid Prime 3 and Zack and Wiki both make excellent use of the Wiimote.
- JigoroKano, on 04/08/2008, -1/+17So we can bury it.
- chrisjs169, on 04/08/2008, -2/+18...Why are you linking us to the duplicate story? Notice how your story's article links to the MTV site at the bottom...
- AwesomeMonster, on 04/08/2008, -10/+25Hmm, i don't know what to think about this. On the one hand Microsoft has the online components that the wii lacks and the hardware capability that they could never acquire, on the other, nintendo has the first party support that has shown to be really the only thing that captures the motion controls well and create a good games with the concept. Either way I doubt that it will make anything all too great of a change.
- asskicker32, on 04/08/2008, -4/+19I have an idea for Microsoft, ignore the motion sensing input and FIX THE ***** D-PAD!
I need my Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting. - Nathanage, on 04/08/2008, -3/+17Broke!
*Audience applause and laughter* - coheedcollapse, on 04/08/2008, -5/+17I don't know what crazy world you come from, but I remember the phrase "Wii60 FTW" being used to the point of it getting tired and lame.
- danjal, on 04/08/2008, -8/+20you know.. I'll be honest, at times when i play a Wii game i do wish the graphics were a bit more.. but ultimately i do prefer the quiet hum of the wii vs the droning vacuum sound of the 360
- ButchersBoy, on 04/08/2008, -6/+16Wii Sports Bowling?!!! Wario is a great party game. SMG uses point and flick controls which complement the more standard controls beautifully and very naturally. And as Sedako says MP3 and Zack & Wiki. MoH has pretty good FPS controls too!
- donte, on 04/08/2008, -2/+12The problem with the Wii is that unless it's based on one of the token franchises (mario, zelda, or metroid) the games are typically pretty awful. You named some great games, but those are sadly the only good games the system has on it (any others are usually on the 360 and PS3 also and are far more enjoyable with a normal controller). And if their history with the Gamecube has taught us anything, now that they've blown their franchise wad, don't expect any more marvels for the rest of the system's lifespan (just a slew of crappy mario sports games).
- kanabiis, on 04/08/2008, -7/+16Halo, Halo 2, Halo 3, Call of Duty 1, 2, 3, 4, Rainbow six all 20 versions, John Madden's NFL series,
Yea, no Rehashed games on the Xbox, no sir...
//owner of BOTH Xbox 360 AND Wii - logan074, on 04/08/2008, -3/+12Who the ***** wants to sit on a couch with headphones on?
- KingGoonie, on 04/08/2008, -9/+18Theres alot more, but why bother with someone who said there was none at all.. Especially considering all he had to list was 1 to prove Nazi Hatin Chimp wrong, since he said there was 0.
- themastersb, on 04/08/2008, -4/+13You win 1 Internet.
- theaceoffire, on 04/08/2008, -3/+12I am a PS3 owner/fanboy, and I love the Wii's ideas, and the fact that it is spreading the gaming culture to people who might never have cared about videogames otherwise.
O.o and since the PS3 is about equal or less than 360, there are lots of PSWii owners as well. - HolyChimp, on 04/08/2008, -3/+11D-pad sucks, but the rest of the 360 controller is by far better than the Wii's classic controller or the Gamecubes controller.
- Xplodzion, on 04/08/2008, -3/+11My 360 is in a smallish room and I normally have the sound at a moderate volume, but the 360 sounds like a jet engine when playing games, you can clearly hear the thing over the atmosphere of a game.
It amazes me when some r-tard tells other people to get a life when he doesn't actually know *****. - grumbel, on 04/08/2008, -1/+8Microsoft had a motion sensing controller back in 1999 with the Sidewinder Freestyle and there have been tons of others. Motion sensing is nothing new, the Wiimote was simply the first one to gain mass market appeal.
- KrustyTClown, on 04/08/2008, -3/+10Goonie speaks out of his a$$. he said "most wii haters are PS3 sony fanboys who are all upset" where does he get such a fact? And what is to be upset about? I have a PS3 because I did not want a Wii or a 360, and I'm not upset.
- asskicker32, on 04/08/2008, -2/+9BETTER ZEN MAMA!!!
- DukeMojo, on 04/08/2008, -1/+8I did. But I don't know if I'd call myself a fanboy. I think the 360 has the best games, but I also have a Wii and want to buy a PS3. So what does that make me?
- petebot, on 04/08/2008, -1/+7That's the first time I've seen "obsolete " used as a verb. Well done!
- inactive, on 04/08/2008, -1/+7Oops! Let's try those links again:
This is the best one, as Halo Wars would be a perfect fit (RTS) and a big title to release it with:

Oldest: http://digg.com/gaming_news/The_Wiimote_Killer_com ... - KenSPT, on 04/08/2008, -28/+34I love how all the X-Box fanboys who mocked the motion sensitive Wii-mote when it was first announced/released are now salivating over one of their own. Ridiculous.
- Psythik, on 04/08/2008, -0/+6Don't forget that the 360 was officially unveiled on MTV...
- inactive, on 04/08/2008, -0/+6and clearasil
- MalenfantX, on 04/08/2008, -0/+6People being too retarded to hold onto the wiimote wasn't Nintendo's fault. I thought Nintendo might be to blame until I actually held the controller. Anyone who throws it is a moron.
- logicalnoise, on 04/08/2008, -1/+6I'm not spouting some fanboy nonsense. Just because I'm not screaming for the head of MS doesn't mean I'm biased.
- BadseedJR, on 04/08/2008, -1/+6Who would have thunk that in all your time on Digg, you didn't figure out the "reply to" link on the comment you're replying to.
- thanakar, on 04/08/2008, -8/+13While I see this as a step forward for the Xbox, it will in no way ever make the Wii obsolete..buried as inaccurate.
- BadseedJR, on 04/08/2008, -3/+8I'm not sure why you are getting dugg down...
- zumpiez, on 04/08/2008, -1/+6It's Patrick Klepek. He was the news editor for 1up.com not terribly long ago.
- jacksons98, on 04/08/2008, -4/+9@KingGoonie PS3 and Wii owners have been enjoying the option for motion controls on most games for quite awhile. It's been x360 owners calling it a stupid gimmick all along..
- HolyChimp, on 04/08/2008, -2/+7If they sell it for £50 with come kind of Wii Sports style mini game pack then they just stoppedme getting a Wii, thus meaning more money for them.
- justice7, on 04/08/2008, -6/+11i kinda agree with this statement, if its not included out of the box it won't see a lot of "penetration" .. like most diggers.
- toxicityj, on 04/08/2008, -3/+8The difference being that the 360 makes very little use of the D-pad as anything other than an additional means to navigate menus. There's very few games that give the D-pad any "power" beyond that. The D-pad in general is becoming obsolete.
- Conwaysb0718, on 04/08/2008, -4/+9Somebody get that man a prize.
