- Scopitone, on 10/27/2007, -0/+18Wow, $149? Pass
- inactive, on 10/26/2007, -1/+16Nothing here you can't do yourself a LOT cheaper. All they have done is hacked a wired 360 gamepad inside.
- sagat, on 10/27/2007, -0/+13There is the Sega VF5 joystick which is only $60 still pricey but nowhere near the cost of the above and Sega have always made superb quality peripherals so I can't imagine it being bad: http://www.flickr.com/photos/8bitjoystick/12455210 ...
- Kanna, on 10/27/2007, -0/+10"Finally?" I've had my Hori DOA4 stick since the console launch. It only costed me $80 too.
- jdotcob, on 10/27/2007, -1/+9150 bucks for the "bare bones" model...does it come with a bigger hard drive???
- chris9902, on 10/26/2007, -0/+7They see me tollin', they hatin'
- Travisty2012, on 10/26/2007, -2/+9Yeah, I could see how you could miss. It's not like it just had the largest game release ever or anything like that...
- getliquified, on 10/26/2007, -2/+9I'd prefer an X-Arcade stick but this will do
- daridave, on 10/27/2007, -0/+4lol it costs half the system. ktxbye!
- wageslaven, on 10/25/2007, -2/+6With a little hacking, there is probably money to be made in an Xbox 360 controller to-jamma harness. Drop an Xbox 360 in a Jamma cabinet and you'd be all set.
- nbcaffeine, on 10/27/2007, -0/+4Those are made by Hori (See Kanna right below). I got mine for $40 awhile back (the DOA4 model) and it pretty much rules. I don't actually use it for DOA, but it is great for all those old fighters on XBLA
- SanTe, on 10/27/2007, -0/+3"Gross, I hate concave arcade buttons"
Blasphemy!
j/k To each his own... - Shao00, on 10/26/2007, -0/+3Now why cant someone come up with a decent mouse and keyboard solution so i can play these FPS games the way they should be played........
- HUKI365, on 10/26/2007, -0/+3I don't even understand that troll...
- godmode, on 10/25/2007, -5/+81. cut a hole in the box
2. put your stick in that box
3. give her the box
its arcade-in-a-box! - Araxen, on 10/26/2007, -0/+3Who plays SFA2 on a SNES emulator on the PC? Go get the real deal...Mame and SFA2.
- catsandboots, on 10/26/2007, -0/+2Too expensive for me.
- SanTe, on 10/26/2007, -1/+3RAmen. The X-Arcade Tankstick rules.
- WilliamDecker, on 10/26/2007, -1/+3I have an X-Arcade and I've used one of these before. I have to say this is the single highest quality arcade sticks you can get for the 360. A lot of people have issues with the price, and really...you get what you pay for.
If you want to commute daily you don't buy a Ferrari. You buy a Toyota. If you like fighting games then you understand there is only one way to get the experience. An arcade stick. - inactive, on 10/27/2007, -1/+3YAY! I wan't have to use my... uhhh... never mind...
- Sabin, on 10/26/2007, -0/+2Personally I will take the Dual Shock or original Xbox controller S over the 360 pad any day of the week. BTW, get Mame, the snes port of SFA2 is garbage.
- terrachronos, on 10/26/2007, -2/+4X-Arcade has been out for awhile. This is nothing to get excited about
- Skitals, on 10/26/2007, -1/+3There have been 360 arcade sticks out for like... 2 years. Google hori 360 joystick. Not many places sell it, for some reason, though it got good press when it came out: http://www.estarland.com/index.asp?page=Xbox360&ca ...
- mik3pass, on 10/26/2007, -0/+2What we need is a proprietary arcade joystick and pad to go along with the ever increasing number of retro arcade games. They could even have the decency to put wireless and recharging capabilities into it while they're at it...
- nbcaffeine, on 10/25/2007, -0/+1No kidding. I got mine at an EB Games about 1 1/2 years ago. Has worked perfectly since then.
- nattybohman, on 10/26/2007, -0/+1I'm surprised too. Did they just come out with a new adapter finally?
- bootykika, on 10/26/2007, -0/+1How are people using their X-arcade sticks on the 360? I bought one for my old Xbox and now it just sits because I can't use it with the 360.
- SanTe, on 10/26/2007, -1/+2If I'm not mistaken, there is still no official Xbox 360 adapter for X-Arcade's sticks because Microsoft is being a douche about third party controllers. X-Gaming is as frustrated as anyone about it. :( X-Arcade rules for MAME though.
- stellarceltic, on 10/29/2007, -0/+1meh... that might have been funny had you quoted it correctly
- rikwakefield, on 10/26/2007, -0/+1fail
- Scynet, on 10/25/2007, -0/+1As far as I know the XFPS allows you to plug an USB mouse into the XBox but it doesn't work too well. XBox supposedly doesn't support the kind varying accelerations and speeds a mouse generates, but instead just a couple of constant speeds, completely ruining the idea. Imagine if your mouse always moved at the same speed no matter how fast you slide it across the mousepad...this all according to a review I read a while ago, I don't even own a console personally.
Looks like MS is the only one who can come up with a mouse and I doubt they have interest in it. - ControlledBurn, on 10/25/2007, -0/+1You have the option for convex buttons, as well as a couple different joystick options, when you buy it, but there's no option for a different arrangement.
- ornellasm, on 10/27/2007, -2/+3Gross, I hate concave arcade buttons :( Give me some convex buttons in a more comfortable arrangement >:-[
- thaiboxerken, on 10/25/2007, -0/+1Google XIM Xbox360. With this gadget, you can use whatever a computer can use. Of course, it requires a PC connected between the XBOX 360 and the controller you are using.
- Pardis, on 04/29/2009, -0/+1Hori is great but even they have a costly one. $130 http://www.hori.jp/us/products/xbox360/xbox360_rea ...
- nattybohman, on 10/26/2007, -0/+1What the hell are mains?
- ArcadeJunkies, on 07/30/2008, -0/+1I think it came interestingly right after this article: http://www.xgaming.com/newsletter/september07.shtm ...
- thaiboxerken, on 10/28/2007, -0/+1If you have your x-arcade still, it might be cheaper to buy XFPS pro. X-arcade + Playstation2 adapter + XFPS = works.
- Sabin, on 10/27/2007, -1/+2Some people prefer american style arcade controls over japanese style. Fortunately I'm not one of those people nad have been loving the Hori stick since it was released. The best part is that I can use it with my PC as well. Works great with mame.
- thaiboxerken, on 10/28/2007, -0/+1X-Arcade + Playstation 2 adapter + XFPS = X-arcade works on XBox 360. I just tried it this morning, SFII is so much more fun now.
- ArcadeJunkies, on 07/30/2008, -0/+1That is true: http://www.xgaming.com/newsletter/september07.shtm ...
- ArcadeJunkies, on 07/30/2008, -0/+1You can use the X-Arcade on the 360: http://www.xgaming.com/newsletter/september07.shtm ...
- Synthesize, on 10/26/2007, -2/+2It's my dick in box baby!
- JRW160, on 10/25/2007, -0/+0that vf5 controller looks just like the doa fight stick that came out about 2 years ago
- originaldna, on 10/26/2007, -1/+0This is long over do, I bought an x-arcade stick for my original xbox back in the day, works great off line but sucks while playing online, there is a 2 sec lag while playing on live, and playing fighting games 2 sec can mean your death, it just kills the experience although it’s great with street fighter on mame games.
I second what WilliamDecker said, to get the true experience of a fighting game you need a good quality stick. That’s one of the main reasons I did not buy a 360 as yet, I mostly play FPS and fighting games, and street fighter is the best fighting game ever, so to get that experience I still go to the arcades to play third strike, and stick to my pc for FPS.
With the new street fighter 4 coming out, I might shell out the loot for a 360 and that arcade stick. - SanTe, on 10/27/2007, -2/+1You must be under 30. I grew up in arcades and true arcade controls rock. I bought an X-Arcade Tankstick recently for $200+shipping and it was worth every penny. Nothing like playing Robotron at home with two pro quality arcade sticks. :) And having an arcade quality trackball for Crystal Castles is nice too.
I loved my NES back in the day but cursed Nintendo for bringing the gamepad to the world. We've all been suffering ever since; you're just too young to know it. - xXGeechXx, on 10/26/2007, -2/+1I don't know why they don't release "Arcade" controllers for the 360 similar to Wii Classic Controllers...
- DangerStepp, on 10/26/2007, -3/+2I've heard of people "sanding" or "filing" down the D-pad so it won't jut out as much as it does.
- robphillips, on 10/25/2007, -2/+1Are they serious? The 360 controller is the best fighting game controllers I've ever used! I often play SFA2 for SNES (emulator) on my PC using the 360 controller.
