- bigmac375, on 12/01/2007, -0/+26great news! now there wont be any 20 year olds with "child" accounts anymore.
- LucrativeFuture, on 12/01/2007, -1/+22This should have been implemented sooner but it is still a great thing:)
- mrfreeziexp, on 12/01/2007, -4/+19Wow, it seems like Microsoft has listened to everything people complained about and fixed it. Bravo, very impressive.
- Mist0r_Wiggles, on 12/01/2007, -0/+12now we all can get ads on our blades!!!
- Chompy, on 12/01/2007, -2/+12Hey, it only took two years.
- funkydude101, on 12/01/2007, -0/+8Finally. I've been waiting for a clear solution to switch my live id associated with my account.
- Viend, on 12/01/2007, -1/+9I take it adult is 18? Then in 3 to 4 years I'll be able to promote my ch-no wait...I don't have a child account!
Back to my chainsaw battle. - D3koy, on 12/01/2007, -3/+91.Launch product missing things
2.Add missing things
3.???
4.Profit - Synthesize, on 12/01/2007, -0/+5Good news that they finally fixed this.
- Shaflugi, on 12/01/2007, -1/+5I figured being 17 would be fine, considering that M games require you to be 17. Not to mention, I was gonna turn 18 in two months anyways. But NOO!
It's alright, the adult accounts don't have anything useful, anyways. - zealotbleeds, on 12/01/2007, -0/+3wow just a few hours ago I was going to call and try to fix that, seeing as im over 18 now and paying for my account on my own card. Bravo to Microsoft.
- natastna2, on 12/01/2007, -0/+3Where's my ***** 16:10 support.
- SSCrow, on 12/01/2007, -3/+6*Cough*
Playstation Network. - inactive, on 12/01/2007, -0/+2Better late than never. I've been stuck on my stupid child account for years...
- HappyScrappy, on 12/01/2007, -0/+2Wow. That's great. What a weird coincidence a story ran just last week on Digg about this feature being missing. It's almost as if MS is astroturfing 360 stories right now.
- Alucard010, on 12/01/2007, -0/+1No kidding
- knodi, on 12/01/2007, -1/+2Someone should show this to sony. This is want at version upgrade should look like look at all the new stuff.
- hadimirza, on 03/26/2008, -0/+1very well.
- SSCrow, on 12/01/2007, -0/+1YES!! Finally I can change my LIVE ID tag to my actual email address.
Thats a mistake that I have had to face for a long time. - GiveItASqueeze, on 12/06/2007, -0/+1GOD! its about damn time.
Hope MS didnt rush too much - xSet, on 12/01/2007, -0/+1Wow not only can I graduate but I can also change my email to one I actually use! I had to make a new email just for my account because I had my old one linked to another account.
- inactive, on 12/01/2007, -1/+2How about allows us to add more than one ***** handle to a gold account?
So ***** dumb that I have to buy a gold card for each person in my house who wants to play, which I refuse to do. - Kigmal, on 12/01/2007, -1/+2Yeah, you are right, everything can be done in a matter of days to work perfectly ...
- DeadHerring, on 12/01/2007, -0/+1The larger problem here is not enabling MSN and ads on child accounts anyway, I am 16, so according to Microsoft I am a child. Even through using my other address as the 'parent' account, it is impossible to enable this functionality. So Microsoft seems to think that even a child's parents cannot trust their child to speak to friends on MSN, how is that in anyway worse than speaking to absolute strangers on Xbox Live?
Because of this redicululous patronisation, I shall do everything possible to deceptively graduate my gamertag to a bonified adult account. - FongoBongo, on 12/01/2007, -0/+1Finally, I can switch from using my roomate's LIVE ID to my own -
- sinembarg0, on 12/01/2007, -0/+1Right now adult accounts have Live messenger, but other than that there are no "features" a child account can not have. With the new update, child accounts will be allowd to have live messenger, so I won't be graduating mine, because I want Live messenger but don't want ads.
- h4xx3d, on 12/01/2007, -1/+2What about recover my old gamertag from the original Xbox era? I want my gamertag back godammit!
- Gek025, on 12/01/2007, -0/+0yes
- Adgeman, on 12/01/2007, -1/+2So does this mean that I can change the email to my Canadian email rather than the UK one it's been locked to since launch?
- hadimirza, on 03/26/2008, -2/+2how did microsoft not notice this in all these years of xbox live?
damn. - KrazyGamerHead, on 12/01/2007, -1/+1I thought the same thing as you except I signed up a week before my birthday so I didn't think I'd care about having a child account for a week, but I was saddened when my child account never graduated lol
- IncubusPhil, on 04/09/2008, -0/+0I've had a live account for years, since I was underage. I'm 20 now and was never offered to promote my account to an adult account. Called customer support and they said I already had an adult account, but still I was not receiving any ads! They told me the only way to fix this was to make a new account and lose all my achievements! pack that!
- BearinG, on 12/05/2007, -1/+1Hurray for ads!
- Fired4This, on 12/03/2007, -0/+0"Fall"? It's December, is it not?
- lolo2007, on 03/01/2008, -0/+0The funny thing about all this is that people actually WANT Microsoft to make money off them because they think the ads are cool and helpful, but Microsoft never bothered to fix the glitch preventing hundreds of thousands of people seeing them, even if they want to. Then you have stupid websites trying everything they possibly can to get people to see their ads, and bitch because everyone blocks them using Firefox.

I'm personally on the side of the fence where I did have a child account, there was never a way to graduate it, and I couldn't get ads on my dash. I personally think they're informative and not annoying or out of place, and think they look a hell of alot better than blank boxes with the 360 logo that WOULD have ads in them. I can't wait for the update. - inactive, on 12/01/2007, -3/+2PSN works a lot better than XBL. Not sure what you're going on about... at least it's free.
- iChainsaw, on 12/01/2007, -4/+2Who the ***** signs up for an xbox live account and puts their age below 18? seriously? even my 10 year old brother told microsoft he was 20. Protip: my digg name is also my xbl gamertag, and i'm playing gears and i would like to chainsaw battle :D
- xino, on 12/01/2007, -3/+1I remember when Windows Live ID/gamertag linking first came out, you were able to switch which one is linked to your gamertag and then later on they disabled it and now it's being enabled again.
- TehEnergy, on 12/01/2007, -12/+4About time. I'm almost dead I've waited so long...
