- shredomatic, on 12/12/2007, -2/+321I for one am tired of playing my M rated games with 12 year olds who only know how to say ***** and *****.
- ButchersBoy, on 12/12/2007, -3/+276Yeah. I'm sick of pubescent teenagers still in the grudge phase shouting abuse about my mother. I'm 30 for Christ's sake. I've been playing video games for 23 years and now gaming is a mature medium as I am a mature adult. I'm up for a laugh and a few swear words but some of the grotesque language I hear makes me want to go play Wii with my wife.
- hpfreak26, on 12/12/2007, -42/+280That would be horrible. I'm 15, and I don't want to be paired up with those douchebags either. I'm sure that most people would lie about their age anyways.
- postalblowfish7, on 12/12/2007, -31/+254i'm 23 and don't want to be paired with you.
- mattyice11, on 12/12/2007, -2/+1681.) People will lie about their age.
2.) Everyone made a huge deal of the muting ability in Halo 3, but don't realize that muting players is integrated into the dashboard and is supported across all games. Go into your recent players list, select their name, and select mute. Problem solved. - ieataquacrayons, on 12/12/2007, -2/+121I'd pay for a feature that automatically kicked out any kid that said the words "you're a fag, you're a douche, your mom" in the middle of playing a game.
- GeorgeStone2, on 12/12/2007, -2/+85I remember one kid chanting "KKK ALL DAY" in a strong southern accent.
- Shiftgood, on 12/12/2007, -3/+85Are you guys kidding? those kids are the most fun to kill.
- mrSimon, on 12/12/2007, -1/+82Even better, why dont you have "Voice rep" blocking? As with skill levels in Halo 3, if you dont match a certain level of voice rep, you cant enter the room.
Loud annoying person enters regular room. People get pissed off and give him bad rep.
Loud annoying people attempts to play another game. He is denied access to 'gated' games, and gets paired up with other loud annoying people. - imacashew, on 12/12/2007, -6/+86I'm 28 and don't want to be paired with you
- mrSimon, on 12/12/2007, -5/+71Adult rooms would be full of children. Childrens rooms would be full of adults.
Simple. - Nobi-Wan, on 12/12/2007, -0/+64If you're 31 and looking for a hot female on Xbox Live you might as well be buying lottery tickets.
- drakenlot, on 12/12/2007, -3/+67My god, it's the mythological Maturius Adolescentus.
I thought you were extinct back in the 90s? - gyrfalcon, on 12/12/2007, -0/+62I'm about 31, and unless you're a hot female, I don't want to be paired with you either.
- BearinG, on 12/12/2007, -1/+63You can also give negative feedback (Communication, singing, music.. ) on top of muting them so that XBL will try not to pair you with them again.
- Bostocks, on 12/12/2007, -3/+63Why digg him down? It's nothing against this particular 15 year old, but if I could arrange 18 or even 20+ only games, I would. It would remove a large percentage of the people I hate playing with.
- Pinhedd, on 12/12/2007, -1/+46Because you know, everyone acts their age on the internet.
- mrjit, on 12/12/2007, -2/+47You two need to be paired up with a wife and kids or something, old bastards.
- GeorgeStone2, on 12/12/2007, -12/+56Stupidly moronic post?
He's right. There are mature 12 year olds, and there are immature 23 year olds.
It's both ends of the spectrum.
It's judging a book by its cover.
It's other analogies.
Either way, that 15 year old seems more mature than you. - enforcerpsu, on 12/12/2007, -2/+41There is nothing worse than finally getting a team together for a ranked team game in Halo 3 and the first person who speaks is a 12 year old kid...
I could even deal with it if they knew what they were doing, but 9 times outta 10, they are absolutely terrible and won't shut up the entire match.
If you are reading this and are under the age of 15, please don't play ranked matches, go to bed. - swazo, on 12/12/2007, -1/+39Don't exercise your thesaurus too much there kid.
- wild, on 12/12/2007, -0/+37How about they just make those "hardcore, casual, etc." categories filter who I play with? I don't need to be cool and underground. I just want to relax and play. Put me with like minded people. Hell, you already have the data in place.
- Tserk, on 12/12/2007, -3/+32While this would be a great feature, there are several gaming communities out there that are targeted towards adults. I've got 100 people on my friends list and all of them are from those communities. It really does take a LOT of the ***** out of XBL.
- BrewBeau, on 12/12/2007, -1/+29It's almost like there's a connection there. Hmmm... deadbeat parents buy M rated game for child and same parents expose their child to racism and bigotry.
- bartleby, on 12/12/2007, -0/+28I do use the XBL mute feature, but the Halo 3 much slicker than the the XBL option, and it should be implemented in all MP XBL games. With XBL in the time it takes you to bring up the blade, go to friends, find the guy and mute him you've probably died twice. The Halo 3 thing was a huge deal.
- badqat, on 12/12/2007, -1/+29I dunno...I run across a whole lot of younger adults with the same issues as the kiddies...fag, douche, *****...
- Mononuclear, on 12/12/2007, -0/+27Do you call people fags and *****? If so you belong with the prepubescent boys.
- inactive, on 12/12/2007, -1/+26Just to be clear, we are still talking about xbox live, right?
- chedabob, on 12/12/2007, -1/+25They need a "Isn't old enough to play this game" feedback, and get all the 11 year olds off Rainbow Six Vegas.
- FredFredrickson, on 12/12/2007, -0/+24I gotta agree, Butcher... Gears and Halo seem so lame when you've got 10 year old kids yelling in your ear trying to reserve weapons before the game starts - only to suck with them, and only want to use them to get the achievement points. Playing with a couple of buddies your own age is so much better!
- Frazzlet, on 12/12/2007, -0/+23It would make matchmaking even slower. Also, being 17, i'd probably still be paired with these 12 year olds.
- zeroEDGE, on 12/12/2007, -1/+24Your insult fails.
- slimdizzy, on 12/12/2007, -6/+28Your wife plays with my Wii also.
- BrewBeau, on 12/12/2007, -0/+19take him!
- inactive, on 12/12/2007, -0/+19Age doesn't matter.
It's the anonymity factor.
Play Halo 3 online. I guarantee you within your first 5 games you'll hear, "OOH YOU GOT OWNED FAG", and it really comes from everyone whether they're 13 or 30.
Then you simply ignore them. They say it again, "YOU PIECE OF *****, DID U HEAR ME?!?! FAG." I'm not at all exaggerating when I say this is the *majority* of online Halo players. I play THPS online quite a bit and I've gotta admit, that type of ***** is few and far between. Same with Gears of War. It happens, but nowhere near on the same level as Halo.
Which is why I now play with the voice completely turned off. The built in system should work, but in reality, it'll take you more time to negatively mark, or block, 75% of those you play against.
Thing is, douchebags will positively mark other douchebags cancelling out your negative mark against them.
They need a way to discern a player's overall rating when it comes to modding others. If you have mainly negative reviews, then your review of another player should count MUCH less than someone with good standing. - Tricky, on 12/12/2007, -0/+18Um, don't ever say that again...
- badqat, on 12/12/2007, -0/+17fag, douche, *****...I think those are the three most used words on xbox live...and it's not a good thing. Especially out of the mouth of babes...yeah, I'd pay for that too!
- ajrizzo, on 12/12/2007, -1/+18"It must be hard, being caught between two worlds of man and boy."
There's a support group for that: NAMBLA. - inactive, on 12/12/2007, -1/+18"I'm up for a laugh and a few swear words but some of the grotesque language I hear makes me want to go play Wii with my wife."
I almost missed that. - Exhaust, on 12/12/2007, -6/+22And you posted a comment about maturity?
- drakenlot, on 12/12/2007, -1/+17That would be really useful for those PC gamers who blast music while on a headset.
- zmjone2992, on 12/12/2007, -0/+14fail
- inactive, on 12/12/2007, -0/+14How about IQ matching? Present a test and then match players based on how well they do...or don't.
- DangerMouse9, on 12/12/2007, -1/+15"yes" *looks around suspiciously* we are talking about "xbox" live.
- brugger1982, on 12/12/2007, -0/+14ButcherBoy's point: Q.E.D.
- inactive, on 12/12/2007, -2/+14 Age matching would be worthless. People lie about age, it's too easy for people to game that metric.
- inactive, on 12/12/2007, -2/+14Do you think its wise to divide the player base up further?
I have a crisp $10 bill here that says you'll be the first one to bitch when matchmaking times double or even increase in the slightest.
Mute or unplugg your mike. - jstone, on 12/12/2007, -2/+13And those same kids are always the most profane ones on the server. Every other word out of their mouth is either *****, *****, douche, or fag. It gets really annoying after a while.
- s0nicfreak, on 12/12/2007, -4/+15You're just assuming they're kids. Sometimes they're actually grown women who don't talk like women. If I had a dollar for every time someone thought I was a boy who's voice hadn't dropped on xbox live... well, I'd have quite a few dollars.
- ashmael, on 12/12/2007, -0/+11Yeah, I'm just guessing here but I think it has something to do with the core gameplay being all about killing people, and the game rewarding you for doing it in style or in sprees.
