- CollapseControl, on 04/25/2008, -8/+58It is a good move to make precautions for the GTAIV onslaught, but I don't think it is really needed. I can't wait to see how many people drop off of Halo & COD to play GTA.
- postal21, on 04/25/2008, -5/+53Look what happened to the servers when they released a COD4 map-pack the other day...
the servers are still going to massively crash... - lcmatt, on 04/25/2008, -6/+46Renting the servers from Gamespy? Ouch....
- ANT1138, on 04/25/2008, -0/+31Stop saying "baby diaper mustard".
- Darkwave, on 04/25/2008, -4/+34Got 67 copies of the 360 version delivered to my work ealier today... Was so tempted to take one home and pay for it on Tuesday but unfortunatly internal auditors and Rockstar are doing random spot checks to make sure none have gone "missing"
One a related note, I cant really see everyone all jumping on the multiplayer asap, its not a fps whereby most can pretty much jump straight into the multiplayer, I know ill be playing the single player for sometime before I venture online. - Myonosken, on 04/25/2008, -5/+33Halo is populated with 13 year olds.
13 year olds love sex, guns, cars and violence
Therefore, Halo will be a ghost town. - bensone1, on 04/25/2008, -6/+32[pointless 360 vs ps3 comment heard over and over again]
- inactive, on 04/25/2008, -13/+38Oh please, Live was so bad the 360 UI itself froze while connected
- LoganVH, on 04/25/2008, -3/+27Am I the only one who had no idea Microsoft gave away Undertow for free?
I only found out when I remembered being promised a free game for LIVE sucking over the break, and google'd it. And that was last week. - VinnieDaMac, on 04/25/2008, -25/+49You get what you pay for. I feel much more comfortable with what Xbox Live has than what PS3 has....whatever it is they have.
- Ocelot13, on 04/25/2008, -0/+19halo 3 had over a million online at at the same time around launch.
- Snakedal337, on 04/25/2008, -21/+38Well it's funny, mainly because the PS3 servers (For UT3 and Warhawk anyway) haven't been down yet for me. Oh and i'm not paying a dime.
- djSyndrome, on 04/25/2008, -0/+17But that's all he eats.
- herschelaz, on 04/25/2008, -4/+18well i'll be missing out on whatever improvements they made, my xbox decided to go into red ring of death mode yesterday
- kinseyincanada, on 04/25/2008, -2/+15well this is good, i dont know if i want to just go through the single player or jump into the multiplayer this game just seems like there s so much to do. Also im glad they admitted they were not prepared during Christmas.
- WaveyRavey, on 04/26/2008, -4/+16So you dont know what the PSN consists of, yet u feel "much more comfortable" with what Xbox Live has?
- BenPresland, on 04/26/2008, -1/+13[post that gets dugg down]
- jmreid, on 04/25/2008, -3/+14I was going to read your comment, but no paragraphs makes it hard. Sorry.
- mywhitenoise, on 04/25/2008, -2/+13I highly doubt he meant combined.
- mywhitenoise, on 04/25/2008, -6/+16I've seen videos of Halo 3 online, that game does not look fast paced.
- Owwmykneecap, on 04/25/2008, -1/+10they will never ever ever be able to play each other.
Some games (shadow run for example) let pc and 360 play against (and with) each other - zdiddy85, on 04/25/2008, -0/+9I probably won't touch the multiplayer portion of the game for a good bit. I really want to kick off a few good hours into the campaign first. :D
- Spire3660, on 04/25/2008, -5/+14 PSN is nowhere NEAR the level of sophistication and usefullness that is live. This is coming from someone who owns both. THe day I can pause my game, load up a new song playlist, start a online chat with my friend, unpause and continue gaming is the day that PSN will be up to par. Everything else is secondary by a mile.
- innocentsinner, on 04/25/2008, -5/+14Or team-oriented. Unless he's confused with Team Fortress 2
- skunks, on 04/25/2008, -1/+9we must have gotten 'em from the same batch
- Wootstapler, on 04/25/2008, -1/+8"You are NOT prepared!" - Illidan
- Satanael, on 04/25/2008, -1/+8SENSATIONALISM.
- FleetAdmiral, on 04/26/2008, -4/+11lol, nope, your ***** service is lacking & free
- gtapro92, on 04/26/2008, -0/+6my condolences to you and your family
- mrhuggy, on 04/25/2008, -1/+7Read the comment, now did the spike for Halo 3 and COD4 happen at the same time? No. Stop reading into what people say and read what they say.
- WaveyRavey, on 04/26/2008, -0/+6[pointless argument that no one cares about]
- Jaliyl, on 04/25/2008, -2/+8Thats what you get for playing games on your 360 instead of keeping it safe and cool until GTA IV comes out.
/sarcasm - zeusthemoose, on 04/25/2008, -0/+5It must be a hassle cleaning that out of his neck beard.
- logicalnoise, on 04/26/2008, -1/+6you must be a hillary fan.
- AussieFox, on 04/26/2008, -0/+5...Then its not the same level is it...
- linuxpenguin, on 04/26/2008, -1/+6This is why I refuse to pay for online game services. Paid web services guarantee 99.9% uptime - that's less than half a day - for what I understand is a similar price to Live; yet it's "no big deal" when it goes down for "not a month" when you are paying to be able to play it at any time. If you pay to rent a server, you also get a 99%+ uptime guarantee - in my mind that kind of guarantee is worth paying for, and a half-day for upgrades or server failure is understandable. Paying a regular price with no such guarantee, though. . . that's a little ridiculous if you ask me.
- TheLD, on 04/25/2008, -1/+6It's the same with almost every game launched on both platforms. Xbox users use Xbox Live PS3 users use PSN
- matthewjhughes, on 04/25/2008, -2/+7i hope they do that with battletoads
- advancedOption, on 04/25/2008, -2/+7I don't think the spike will be as big as they expect. Most people that get the game won't play multiplayer until they've gotten through a portion of the singleplayer. People like me won't play until they've finished the major singleplayer storyline. So people will be joining in multiplayer at different times — so no spike.
CoD4 and Halo3 singleplayer's weren't that important. A lot of people buying those games were buying them for multiplayer. - Evi1d33d, on 04/26/2008, -1/+5Dude this is /digg/ you are talking about here.
- BigBrasky, on 04/25/2008, -1/+5We did. They gave us Undertow, and I think maybe another game. I could be wrong about a second game though.
- PHiZ187, on 04/25/2008, -2/+6The article says that the Xbox and PS3 backbones are separate. Does this mean that PS3 and Xbox players cannot play against each other? Separate networks?
- YellowSnowDemon, on 04/25/2008, -0/+4Undertow is so boring. :(
- wellyuk, on 04/25/2008, -1/+5ms. pacman had equivalent of india's population online at the same time.
- WaveyRavey, on 04/26/2008, -0/+4Try not to advertise that fact. This game is REALLY worth paying for. Ive downloaded alot of things before, but are u really that cheap that u would pirate GTA?
- inactive, on 04/26/2008, -0/+4better yet, get a life
- diblasio, on 04/25/2008, -1/+5I googled it and didn't find it. I guess I deserve negative diggs for that. :'(
- FamilyGuy, on 04/26/2008, -5/+9I have both consoles, and to use COD4 as an example, I have had WAY less issues with lag or connection on the 360. The Xbox Live service also offers MUCH more. It's MUCH more capable compared to what I have experienced thus far on the PS3. But that's only because I am PAYING for good service. Sony doesn't have to provide good service because we aren't paying for it. And quite often, it shows.
- linuxpenguin, on 04/26/2008, -1/+5This is Digg. . . no common sense or personal observation allowed! I'm afraid I'm going to have to write you up.
- dagamer34, on 04/26/2008, -0/+3I do. I wonder what the tagline will be for the next one.
