- grantHamNeck, on 01/17/2009, -2/+81This is like a year old, how did it make the frontpage? Oh wait you have 468 friends.
- gwaggy12, on 01/16/2009, -2/+48Interesting, yet strangely unhelpful.
- Corbinwaltz, on 01/17/2009, -2/+40This has been around for a good year now, thought everybody knew about those.
- nixpix66, on 01/16/2009, -1/+36If you're playing on Guardian you're pretty much *****.
- HCviolence, on 01/16/2009, -1/+19Avalanche looks like a butterfly....OF DEATH.
- xprojects, on 01/17/2009, -1/+16And yet everyone still insists on running straight through that middle passage armed with nothing but an assault rifle...
- thorb, on 01/17/2009, -0/+11I like how predictable the heatmap was for kills on Guardian with the sniper.

- etx313, on 01/17/2009, -0/+10Why helo thar my friend!!
- inactive, on 01/16/2009, -0/+9Agreed, however it has had the effect of making me go play... right now!
- Renton, on 01/17/2009, -1/+9Valve does it too.

- jakash, on 01/17/2009, -1/+8From the dupe:
"I was going through these the other night and wondered what other info they'll be able to show. I'm quite amazed that they even track all of this inofrmation for every player. Way to go Bungie. That sets the bar for added value." - luckyme77, on 01/17/2009, -1/+8So digg, running out of articles we've already seen yet?
- BitKid, on 01/17/2009, -0/+7Even if it isn't helpful to you, its helpful to map designers so they can get an idea of flow around the map and which weapons are most balanced over the whole of the map. This shows which weapons dominate and where.
Steam has similar stats tracking with Team Fortress 2 and some of their other titles. - djpray2k, on 01/17/2009, -1/+8Still can't get in to Halo online, keep thinking I'd be having more fun on COD4. But I have to hand it to Bungie, with all the DLC and other online stuff they have really made Halo3 online a bit of a benchmark.
- Supernova36, on 01/17/2009, -0/+7Not quite.
- o0jrock0o, on 01/17/2009, -0/+7The best one is narrows. There's that perfect line on the right side where people bounce off of each other in midair going across the lifts and fall to their death.
- Zerophnx, on 01/17/2009, -0/+7There go my hiding spots on the side...
- jakash, on 01/17/2009, -2/+8Isolation looks like an MRI-scan
- Dr3w, on 01/17/2009, -1/+6Snowbound should just be one giant red dot due to the amount of times I've died there.
- benbrooks101, on 01/17/2009, -9/+14These look like a crappy version of Steam's heatmaps.

- xxCOBRAxxKAIxx, on 01/17/2009, -0/+4When I saw Bungie release these heatmaps awhile back, I thought it was cool how they could collect this kind of data. It's certainly not something I've seen over devs do and it deserves some kudos for trying it in the first place (after all, nobody was forcing them to put this kind of thing together).
However, as a tool for learning where NOT to go on maps, I gotta say, the heatmaps are fairly useless. For instance, all of the areas marked dark red are obviously heavy kill areas, but they're also the main hallways that you have to use to get from one side of the map to the other (take a look at The Pit heatmap). - andrewbr500, on 01/17/2009, -0/+4Halo, through the eyes of Predator
- LoneWolf01, on 01/17/2009, -0/+4I'm pretty sure it's one of the hills in King of the Hill. Nice sniper spot too.
- tinkafoo, on 01/17/2009, -2/+5Which means we need to befriend everyone we see.
- SickAndDying, on 01/18/2009, -0/+3Who isn't?
- Twoodge, on 01/17/2009, -1/+4Buried - 70,000 Diggs in fewer than 18 months works out to around 130 a day. No thank you.
- neo991lb, on 01/17/2009, -1/+4I love the maps, but the pie charts with 7 different shades of blue are a bit annoying to decipher.
- Psythik, on 01/17/2009, -0/+3I can watch replays of matches I played WAY back in September '07. No other game's stat tracking can top that, not even TF2's... :(
- logan2448, on 01/17/2009, -0/+3Looks like a pretty butterfly........or a dog with its head split open.
- Psythik, on 01/17/2009, -0/+3That was submitted back before heatmaps were global. Until now they only showed the individual's kills and deaths.
- psychohog, on 01/17/2009, -0/+3I think it's a butterfly.
- inactive, on 01/17/2009, -0/+3It just means that a ***** ton of people play Halo 3. On any given Friday or Saturday evening there can easily be 300,000+ people online. That's a lot of killin
- krekc, on 01/17/2009, -0/+3Its a ridge that sits pretty high and you can see quite a ways. I dont recall that map coming up for sniping only games but it is a good sniping spot.
- benighted, on 01/19/2009, -0/+2I would like to see this for cod4 as well
- xino, on 01/18/2009, -0/+2*Raises hand*
- stosh, on 01/20/2009, -0/+2Bungie's heatmaps are updated every 15 minutes or so and you can filter them by weapon too. You can also find player specific heatmaps in the service record...Yes they don't look quite as good but there's a reason for that.
- cryonix, on 01/17/2009, -1/+3Strange little set of deaths to the left of Sandtrap.
(it's been a while since I've played, so there's most likely something there) - eldano512, on 01/17/2009, -0/+2hovering over the pie charts with your mouse makes it much easier.
- alexforcefive, on 01/17/2009, -1/+3I see a butterfly, devil horns, \m/ sign, and a cobra. Come on guys, you have to practise your rorschach tests before watchmen comes out
- ryanonfire, on 10/08/2009, -0/+1Nobody suspects the butterfly
- Clbull, on 01/17/2009, -0/+1The kills with the Energy Sword on the Pit did not surprise me at all. The enclosed corridor space where you get it is the perfect spot to kill someone with it.
- romantanner424, on 02/20/2009, -0/+0Henline. What language you have. Why so hostile?
http://www.iwantacaiberries.com - Midnitesp3cial5, on 01/26/2009, -0/+0thats seriously old...but still baddass....i sat there and looked at diff weapons and different maps for like an hour
