- Ac1d, on 10/11/2007, -7/+102From the comments:
"Samsung offers a line of monitors that you interconnect and they split the image on their own"
Problem solved? - Flynnz, on 10/11/2007, -2/+76"That might have been the stupidest digg comment I've seen. And that's saying something. Think about what you said. How would he be playing 3 games on 3 360's at the same point, with different views, with 1 controller. I award you no points, and may god have mercy on your soul."
Forza 2 is designed to use networked 360's all together. (same with GT4). So unless I am misunderstanding you, you sir shouldnt be so quick to attack others. - BETRAMS, on 10/11/2007, -3/+70http://img129.imageshack.us/img129/7040/40yroldvirgingp6.png

Probably the only reason why he still has money. - DaveMode, on 10/11/2007, -2/+53Picture of similar setup using three 360's. (from comments section of article)
http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/game/docs/20070517/forza04.jpg - AlexNC, on 10/11/2007, -0/+43Gizmondo.com kinda screwed this one up. The original article actually came from a site I help run, www.AdultGamingEnthusiasts.com. Come on by to read the original blog post, with an interview with the owner. It is a very impressive setup, and the interview is a good read.
http://adultgamingenthusiasts.com/blogs/age/archive/2007/05/16/gamer-interview-gbo-possum-and-his-awesome-3-screen-forza-setup.aspx - aguitarhero, on 10/11/2007, -3/+45To pull this off, you need 3 monitors, three xbox 360s and on top of that 3 copies of forza.
Is it stupid? Yes.. If i had the money, would I do it? Yes.. - Flynnz, on 10/11/2007, -1/+33see I dont think its as simple as "stretching" it across the screens...cause if you look at the gages they are still round, not oval. So I dont care if the TV's have the ability to stretch the video source, that still doesnt explain the aspect ratio that would need to be put out by the game. (without distorting)
So there is still something missing .Though I do see an Elite 360 to the left, perhaps there are more hiding outside of view?. - ganjadude4391, on 10/11/2007, -10/+34I think the system is AMAZING....
on the other hand with the costs of the monitors, and everything else, he could have bought a REAL entry level race car and go down to the track.
my 2 cents - fboliv, on 10/11/2007, -0/+22Nobi-wan, you're wrong. It's 3 Xboxes using system link and Forza Motorsport 2. IGN had pictures of a setup similar to this one with the forza developers sharing some details on how it can be setup.
- Psygnosis, on 10/11/2007, -0/+20Forza supports 3 screens if you network 3 xboxs together.
- BETRAMS, on 10/11/2007, -0/+17Oh.. um, I back up all my DVD's like that so I appear to be against the man, but still not do anything illegal.
It's kinda a win win win. - Battlecry, on 10/11/2007, -0/+17This would be a good time for comment abuse. Put this at the top so people stop arguing about how it was done :)
- TrainingName, on 10/11/2007, -2/+17I have an extremely small and useless penis.
- reddevil3, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16It's actually pretty simple:
- 3 Xbox 360's connected to each other with 3 monitors (duh).
- He's probably playing a demo of Forza 2. Forza 2 doesn't just support 3 360's but either FOUR or FIVE. Yes, you can actually add a screen and put it behind you! Now how AWESOME is that??? - JoeJacobs, on 10/11/2007, -2/+17Wow, who really cares about the racing part, how did he do the mulitple monitor set up?
- somesthetic, on 10/11/2007, -12/+25they showed a triple screen setup on Gamespot's On The Spot last thursday. apparently it's an option if you have 3 xbox 360's and tv's.
- DPimp1262, on 10/11/2007, -2/+15Econoar
It seems that PGR supports this kind of setup. They would be connected via system link and would be running like if they were all playing a multiplayer game but instead all playing the same game from different angles. A single 360 simply does not have the power to put out that much resolution to support 3 monitors. - AlphaPrime, on 10/11/2007, -3/+14So does the Xbox output one standard 1080i image and the TV(s) stretches it 3x wide? That would look horrible.
I remember Major Nelson talking about interconnecting up to 7 360s w/ system link to do the same thing. That would look better. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12This looks like Forza 2 and I know in both of the series you can span the display over System Link between up to 3 Console/TV combos.
They had an article about the original in Popular Mechanics a while back where they had a setup like this where pro drivers tested their times first, and then they drove the real course in the same car and ended up getting similar times. - PixelVision, on 10/11/2007, -2/+12you're a project manager in your parent's basement
- AlphaPrime, on 10/11/2007, -4/+14Your just mad cause you're poor.
BTW, WHAT SCARCITY OF RESOURCES? That comment makes no sense. - jeo77, on 10/11/2007, -2/+12And here I sit with my ONE medium sized, non-HD tv, which I enjoyed up until this article...Ignorance was bliss..
- trubbleshute, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11Whenever I see an amazing set up of machines... ya know, something like 4x 24" LCDs and some dude playing on a $5000 PC, it makes me wish I was living in my parents basement :P
- Flynnz, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11"The TV's he bought allow you to split up the picture across multiples screens. Now the Xbox 360 needs to have a decent flight sim for him to take full advantage of it."
how do you explain the fact that the gages arent distorted? I dont think its a matter of the TV "splitting" it up. It still would need the correct aspect ratio to do that from the game. - Haphazardness, on 10/11/2007, -6/+15.....where's the stick shift?!
- mccord, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9nice setup!
but i wouldn't dare putting my x360 in a hifi-rack with closed doors :P - binaryspiral, on 10/11/2007, -3/+12What's this... gizmondo screwing up another story?
Can't be true. - koven, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Not 3 screens but still a brilliant set-up:
http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17729898 - afruff23, on 10/11/2007, -5/+13Wow, you're smart AND quick!
- popothebright, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9This might be OT, but why is the no-dash view always positioned about 6 inches above the road?
- mattcoady, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8http://kotaku.com/gaming/forza-motorsport-2/gdc-07-the-forza-2-super-set-up-242090.php
Forza supports up to 5 tvs. I guess they recommend buying a real mirror to see the ones behind you. - jdoo, on 10/11/2007, -2/+8@siphre
get a job hippie! - sugarrae, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6>>>"This guy is definitely not married."
LMAO... I'm a girl, and I would probably be the one to INITIATE doing something like this. ***** awesome. - eggfou, on 10/11/2007, -3/+9The split screen is accomplished by Forza. It has a feature that lets you do that but you need multiple 360s. One for each screen. I think it can actually do up to 5 monitors, but not sure on that number. Might be more. So you need 3 monitors, 3 360s and 3 copies of Forza all networked together. Now, if they will just do this with Halo 3.
- Splitt3rxx, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7congratulations econoar! you have earned a spot on my blocklist for being an ignorant *****.
- rabidpancake, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Now all you need is a true 900 degree steering wheel.
- Rich7ejr, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5http://picasaweb.google.com/GBO.Possum/Forza/photo?authkey=u862awXCbIU#5065340591148251218
I found the other 2 Xbox 360's. - CTRLALTDLT, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7i bet you need a loud surround system to overpower the buzzing of those three 360s
- Dero, on 10/11/2007, -8/+12If you looked closely on the left you can see another Xbox.Probably another in the center but blocked by the seat.
- Deranged, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4reddevil3 was right. Forza 2 supports multi-monitor support and you have to have one xbox per monitor, which kinda sucks, but it's a great feature nonetheless.
He could be a dev, and already have full game. - HappyScrappy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Xbots. What can you do?
I guess some people don't want to hear that the although the 360 has some good racing games, it doesn't have any sims or racing wheels that measure up to this 3-screen setup and racing seat. - HappyScrappy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4...move all Zig
- wootmacs, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4It's not perfect, you need some hot chicks near the setup. ;)
- endlessoul, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5Funny thing is is that I would farking _love_ that setup, combined with the article's tri-monitor system.
The sad part is that you posted a 40 Year Old Virgin screenshot.
/yes, i have a girlfriend - trubbleshute, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5scarcity of resources,
I took an economics class once or twice, I think this is the only thing that stuck in there. - bmcnally, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3One of my friends at MSFT claims that there is a room where they have a set up much like that one, except the screens wrap around and there is another one functioning as a rearview mirror.
Said that when the car spun out, he almost threw up. - Teemeeh, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4this is why i will win the lottery
- Nobi-Wan, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Most high end race cars are tiptronic now. The paddle shifting is much more up to date.
