We may know earlier than we would have thought.

estimated timer for downloads, informing how long download will expect to take - deezp1, on 11/21/2007, -2/+40xvid support!
- salmonmoose, on 11/21/2007, -0/+37what is: "Compatibility with messenger pad"
If they mean the chat pad, I've got news for them, it works perfectly already. - aldableep3, on 11/21/2007, -0/+29It's a codec (compressor-decompresser) for video files. basically so everyone can play their pirated downloaded movies on their xbox without transcoding the file
- RoadDoggFL, on 11/21/2007, -6/+34Maybe the focus should be more on 16:10 displays properly accepting 16:9 signals.
- salmonmoose, on 11/21/2007, -2/+30Ok, it's fake.
We already know 2 features of the update - Original Game downloads, and advanced Family Settings, neither of these are mentioned.
Xvid support is highly unlikely especially as MS are apparently in talks with DivX - do you really think DivX would be happy if MS introduced their chief competitor at the same time as them? - Zachari, on 11/21/2007, -14/+39Do you honestly want Internet Explorer on your Xbox?
- joeyjoejoe99, on 11/21/2007, -5/+27I think theres a lot more people who DONT CARE that there is a web browser or not. Get a laptop, go on your computer. Navigating a web browser blows on consoles, and theres no good reason to. Are you seriously that lazy?
- inactive, on 11/21/2007, -0/+22OLD, OLD, OLD - saw this months ago. Pure speculation.
- EXreaction, on 11/21/2007, -3/+22Better than nothing?
- thejokell, on 11/21/2007, -0/+19Plus there's no mention of the new Parental Timer, which even that site lists as confirmed for the Fall Update (next month).
- Dracusis, on 11/21/2007, -5/+23Maybe you should have done some research before buying a PC monitor for a home video console designed for a TV.
Sadly Microsoft can't release a patch to make you less of an idiot. - thedragon4453, on 11/21/2007, -5/+22Yeah, the last thing I need is a popup interrupting Halo telling me that for only pennies I could increase my penis size.
- carrera594, on 11/21/2007, -0/+17i would like multiperson chat rooms.
- Postalwrker27, on 11/21/2007, -0/+12I kinda wish they had the option to bring in multiple people on a private chat. I'm still waiting on that one.
- inactive, on 08/11/2008, -2/+14The Xbox 360 is just amazing. It's Microsoft's one big triumph.
- Scully1981, on 11/21/2007, -1/+11Yes it does. You can plug a USB keyoard into your Xbox and use it as an input device. The problem is that the input speed isn't reflected in real-time on the display. There's a short delay which I'm guessing is what they will be correcting.
- ethamajin, on 11/21/2007, -3/+12I would think the same thing, but there's something really cool about being able to surf the web on my Wii. The point is that it really wouldn't take much time/effort/money to bring the web to 360...
- Synthesize, on 11/21/2007, -8/+16Too good to be true. FAKE!!!
- drtyfrnk, on 11/21/2007, -1/+9They have also said that IPTV functionality is NOT included in the fall update
- wbxp99, on 11/21/2007, -7/+15maybe the focus should be on I dont want my 16:10 lcd panel stretching my picture, and a simple software update (even to just letterbox it) beats me having to buy a new lcd panel...
- Serak, on 11/21/2007, -1/+9Yeah, hate to burst your bubble, but the list IS months old, with parts (namely the IPTV claims), already specifically debunked/denied.
- random12345, on 11/16/2008, -0/+7Europe is a country? Wow. I must've failed geography.
- timdorr, on 11/21/2007, -2/+9Divx and Xvid should be interchangeable. They just need to support the right MPEG 4 profiles.
- captds9e, on 11/21/2007, -1/+7This list has been floating around for months, and is fake.
- chris9902, on 11/21/2007, -0/+6720p Xvid > XBMC
- crowbar77, on 11/21/2007, -3/+9Do you seriously want a Internet Explorer: x360 edition?
- Books, on 11/21/2007, -1/+7Only thing looking good on there is Xvid. Saves me from converting all these TV shows I down-...watch.
- theojanke, on 11/21/2007, -2/+8Except XMBC can't play HD videos.
- mhuggins, on 11/21/2007, -0/+5Dear lord, your post was so cluttered that I decided to wait to see it with nice formatting at the real source. Then I saw the real source, and I couldn't wait to come back and read it without the popup ads and with better paragraph/line spacing here.
- Paulish, on 11/21/2007, -0/+5Digg Mirror
http://duggmirror.com/xbox_360/Rumor_Massive_Xbox_ ... - dejavood0o, on 11/21/2007, -0/+5You know, that and DOS...
- GeckoSlayer, on 11/21/2007, -0/+5@Cyber Akuma:
Or it could be heaps insecure, and give us homebrew! - Psythik, on 11/21/2007, -0/+5I want more resolution choices (esp. 1680x1050), damnit!
- Cyber_Akuma, on 11/21/2007, -0/+5At least I won't have to worry about viruses or browser hijacks on a console web browser version of IE...
And yes I use firefox on my PC. - Jordan89R, on 11/21/2007, -2/+7yeah it would interrupt you considering you'd click on the ad.
- xjeffx, on 11/21/2007, -0/+4I'll believe this when me ***** turns purple and lucky charms fly out of me ass.
- jmontez, on 12/10/2007, -2/+6What's the advantage of Xvid if you don't mind?
- random12345, on 11/16/2008, -0/+4Pssst!! Microsoft didn't make DOS. Bill Gates purchased it for $50,000. :)
But I'd say that operating system that has a small share of the market... forgot its name... I think its called Windows. May be wrong. - s1mph0ny, on 11/21/2007, -0/+4Actually they said it wouldn't be enabled until a provider wants it to be. The didn't say it wouldn't be included.
- Jordan89R, on 11/21/2007, -0/+3yeah true that! i miss the original xbox chat with as many ppl as you wanted
- Cyber_Akuma, on 11/21/2007, -0/+3To crowbar77:
At least that would be one version of IE that would probably be more secure than any other PC browser... - Jeffler, on 11/21/2007, -0/+3Buried for thinking that backwards compatibility updates only come with new dashboard updates...
- AwesomeAndy, on 11/21/2007, -0/+3I don't understand why you are putting "standard" in quotes. 16:9 IS the standard for HDTV defined over 20 years ago. 16:10 is a different standard (well, several standards, depending on the specific resolution) defined by a different group for a different purpose. Computer monitors are not really intended to be used as TV monitors. It's just a nice feature that many can.
- SteelFrog, on 11/21/2007, -0/+3All they need is to pop-in a letterbox for 16:10. That's all people are requesting instead of having the image stretch.
- inactive, on 11/21/2007, -2/+5ummm where is the PROMISED !! XBOX LIVE MARKET PLACE !! DOWNLOAD SERVICE !!!!!!!!!!!!!FOR CANADA AND EUROPE !!!
THATS WHY I KNOW THIS LIST IS ***** !! This WASN'T EVEN MENTIONED !! And it's a MAJOR UPDATE for 2 FREAKING WORLD COUNTRIES !!!

XBox Live Video MarketplaceAt last night’s opening keynote speech for the 2007 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), Jeff Bell, Microsoft’s VP of Marketing for the Xbox, made a number of Internet TV-related announcements. The major, and longed after news, is that Video Market place, which enables users to download paid-for television shows and movies to the XBox 360, will finally launch in Canada and Europe by the end of the year. Bell also revealed that Xbox Live currently has more than 7 million members, and that content sold through the Video Marketplace has brought in $125 million of revenue.
The second big announcement is that, as of today, Disney content will be available on Xbox Live. According to the accompanying press release, the catalog will feature new and classic movies from The Walt Disney Studios including titles from Walt Disney Pictures, Touchstone Pictures, Hollywood Pictures and Miramax Films.
“We’re always looking for more ways to let people experience our films,” said Dan Cohen, executive vice president of pay television and interactive media for Disney-ABC Domestic Television. “With the millions of Xbox 360 consoles in living rooms today with a direct, high-speed Internet connection, Xbox LIVE really has become a terrific device for the delivery of digital entertainment content.”
Disney, whose largest shareholder is Apple co-founder and CEO Steve Jobs, is to-date, the only the major studio to sell movies through Apple’s iTunes — so it’s particularly significant to see them now partner with Microsoft. However, with the current battle for the living room only just heating up, it’s clear that, whatever their elegances, the major studios are spreading their bets. And compared to the AppleTV, which has had limited penetration, the XBox 360 looks a good one. - foxhoundadmin, on 11/21/2007, -0/+3you're getting dugg down, because diggers don't know the difference between a container and a codec. sad, but true. :\
- Whaines, on 11/21/2007, -0/+3Also, the number pad doesn't work on my USB keyboard. They could be correcting something like that.
- tothemax64, on 11/21/2007, -4/+6Pretty sure nothing would be better....
