- triblinator, on 10/10/2007, -0/+32The concept of tacking look to the wiimote only when you press A is golden; any competitive FPS should do that. Definatly a Great idea. Also, the lowering sensitivity is excellent. Not only is this guy incredible for making this work at all, he also made it work well! Am I the only one who thinks it's sad that a hacker does a better job at Wii FPS controls than a game developer?
- freakgd, on 10/10/2007, -2/+21Wii60?
- KnockoutNerd, on 10/10/2007, -2/+12Were we watching the same video? I think that all FPS games for the wii should take a good look at how he did it, because it just seems easy and comfortable ( given like 10 minutes to get used it it).
- dhVyse, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Yeah I have to agree the controls look WAY better then on any Wii game i've played. Better software?
- dhVyse, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Wow, friggin awesome. Shows how good the Wiimote really is with good software. Really hope some modders online come up with some kind of USB conversion for the Wiimote for use in my PC and 360 games.
- tyywebb, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7***** sweet! Although I'd like to see how he does against people using the regular controller.
- spling, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Don't breathe this in.
- stsaby, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3The sensitivity lowering button is ingenious. That could give a huge edge to someone using that online.
- UtopiaInTheSky, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4You clever dog you.
- joemofo214, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2how fun would halo2 be now?
- TalkingBanana, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5Pretty damn cool. Glad to see people are experimenting with the Wii.
- shaycoholic, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3See? We can all coexist in peace lol. Love it :)
xxx - ascalonx, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Yeah, I agree about the only tracking while holding A thing. That would be extremely useful in so many current games. I would hope that any future fps's actually made for the wii (Call of Duty and Far Cry *don't* count) would use this controller scheme.
- seraph741, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2easily done with bluetooth adapter and glovepie on PC. try goldeneye and mario64 with emulator on PC, good times! also, i made a script to control mouse with wii remote. usefull for powerpoint and such.
- dasdef, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4why digg him down? hes right.
- SSCrow, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1huh, I wonder if they will be able to make this a more convenient set up.
I would definitely like to give Halo 3 a try with this. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1This reminds me of the guy who did the wiimote hack with half life 2, any way i wanna see Gears of War played.
- TheDragon, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I like turtles
- QuorumCall, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2I sure hope he doesn't log into Xbox Live using that modded remote.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I am so sick of hearing that, do you know how many other FPS's had the exact same control scheme (or option) before Gaylo? Start with Timesplitters or Quake 3 on PS2 for example. The only reason kiddies think Halo invented it is because they're too young to remember the others.
- captaincanuck76, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1nice mod... This is the caliber of FPS game that needs to come out on a Wii. Too bad it won't support the graphics.
- greenblob, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Hm... why not make the sensitivity a gradient? Isn't the C button analog? Also, I think that it'd be better to make it so that the wiimote movement becomes dead if you hold C all the way down rather than using A to activate it. But otherwise, this is probably better than anything the game developers will come up with for a long time.
- inspireology, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Dug him up. That is just the way I feel about the Wii and present batch of consoles.
- krummb, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1**drooooool** Sweet jesus, imagine the possibilities.
- MarkOfTheDead, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2digg is the new 4chan :/
- patch6, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Brilliant setup, but there seems to be a lag between input and movement.
Without that, it would be perfect.
I wonder if a similar setup can be used to add mouse support to first-person games that only allow joystick movement (like Metroid Prime). - lordtyros, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1**I move away from the mic to breathe in
- Tolzmaniac, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1Halo laid the map for Xbox FPS controller layouts. Now it's doing the same for FPS on the Wii O_o
- errictshunn, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0WRONG!!! I am old enough to remember Intellivision. And the First game I remember using those controls was Red Faction. But it was not nearly as smooth. But After HALO ever FPS after came with those controls. And Elvis was not the first to rock and roll, But once he did no one looked back.
- coyote1284, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0GBT/Technology, noob
- titansfan4life, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1cool !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- jesus4govenor, on 10/10/2007, -2/+0How long until I can get one? The controls are so incredibly intuitive and well thought out. Playing with controls like this would (and already does to some extent) make gaming so much more enjoyable.
- caliguy, on 10/10/2007, -4/+1talk about yesterday's news! very cool, but this was all over the internet two days ago already...
- UtopiaInTheSky, on 10/10/2007, -4/+1Fail.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -13/+9The Wiimote is truly an innovative piece of hardware, but everything else about the Wii system is lacking (graphics, online play, etc). If only the Xbox 360 had a Wiimote we'd have the best of both worlds. Behold, the true Wii360 experience has begun!
You shouldn't have to sacrifice everything else you love about gaming for just a controller. (Hey Micro$oft, look what your gamers want, hint-hint!) - tont0r, on 10/10/2007, -4/+0Great. Now the terrorists win. Thanks guys.
- Uranium118, on 10/10/2007, -8/+3Why would you want to play with less accurate controls?
- PerpetualAcorn, on 10/10/2007, -7/+1How are you supposed to crouch?
- Bulldogge16, on 10/10/2007, -7/+0 Interesting....might be ok.
- yunlin12, on 10/10/2007, -9/+2Xii?
- freakgd, on 10/10/2007, -11/+3cool but that looks so uncomfortable to use, and it needs alot of ***** to function
- mclovin, on 10/10/2007, -11/+1But does it blend?
