As far as rock bands go I find their lyrics to be rather intelligent actually. Check out "That Smell" and "Saturday Night Special." They're songs that deal with important social issues written in a way that the common folk can relate to. IIRC, MTV owns Harmonix and EA basically is hands off of the development of Rock Band.
