- swrostmore, on 10/11/2007, -1/+28you will be missing out on one of the first true next-gen games, and I don't care. more power to ya.
- swrostmore, on 10/11/2007, -7/+33DJ Shadow for the win

- TehSwat, on 10/11/2007, -4/+21In ur town, killin ur king.
- sampson123, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16If you're going to talk about games made to appeal to teenagers you could do a lot worse that this. I actually think this is a pretty unique setting for an action game.
- spudnic, on 10/11/2007, -0/+14It's also bloodier than I thought
- swrostmore, on 10/11/2007, -1/+14UNKLE is DJ Shadow, plus anybody else he feels like collaborating with.
- swrostmore, on 10/11/2007, -1/+14its showing off the great ragdoll system they are using, haven't seen a lot of that before.
- liah, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10Why can no game ever get a horse quite right?
Closest anything got was Shadow of the Colossus in terms of what a horse looks/moves like... Just figured since this game looked so realistic in everything else, they could at least fix the horse :( /end useless pet peeve
Though I'm not going to lie, I let out a huge fangirl squeal at the news of a new trailer. Cannot WAIT for this game to come out, basically the only game I'm actually looking forward to. Nice to see they've finally put out an update. :) - BoomWav, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9În fact.. Assassin Creed is done by Ubisoft Montreal and Silent hunter was done by Ubisoft Romania. That's the difference. Ubisoft Montreal brought the best game out there. Splinter Cell 1 and 3. All the prince of persia. Right now they're doing assassin creed and Splinter Cell: Conviction who all look too great. I wouldn't be so fast on conclusion if I was you.
- EochaidRiata, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8It appears they are using the same engine and crowd technology for the next Splinter Cell also:

- purple, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7Sounds like Spawn, except chains instead of blades.
- isayx3, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6featuring Richard Ashcroft (Verve)
- SonnyBono, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Ubi has done a lot of research to make this game true to the history surrounding the third crusade.
Granted, it is still a game, but the cities have been mapped out quite accurately for the reports I've read.
I'm not sure how the assassin sect actually killed people, but I'm willing to bet that they are following the mechanics somewhat accurately by having a sword... Maybe I'd lose that bet. - stappawho, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5All your diggs are belong to us.
- Bodhesatva, on 10/11/2007, -10/+15This game is like a teenage thug's wet dream. Hooded bad ass walking around in slow motion with blades that snap out of sleeves; long, melodramatic, panoramic shots of said badass brooding on a church roof, and then slicing people up (also in slow mo). This is precisely what I would have thought of as the coolest thing in the world when I was 14.
- funkychikensays, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4anyone know what this is?

@ 1:40 into the trailer - swrostmore, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6Come on, nobody complains when Nintendo releases games that are obviously targeted towards preteens. Plus you spelled bodhisattva wrong.
- EochaidRiata, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5http://www.encyclopediadramatica.com/I_am_in_your_base_killing_your_d00ds
- maino82, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5for an assassin it seems he does a lot of killin' right out in the open. still looks badass though.
- MacGuy101, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4If you pause at towards the end of the trailer when the logo flashes, you can see a diagram of a bunch of chemical bonds, any idea what they mean?
- RobotKing, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5UNKLE is James Lavelle, owner of Mo' Wax. Dj Shadow worked on the Psyence Fiction album with him but Shadow isn't UNKLE.
- sQPha7e, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Apparently new to online gaming too. *_*
- theshalit, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3anybody else laugh about a third of the way in when Altair bitch slaps a guy?
- crashingechelon, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4don't forget Splinter Cell Double Agent for the original Xbox and PS2
- andrewacomb, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4can I digg it more than once?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3i thought the same thing, the horses movement looked funky
- mcmalayalam, on 10/11/2007, -5/+8It's actually UNKLE - Lonely Soul

Some of Assassin's Creed, I have been told, takes place in the modern day, or perhaps even the future. I heard rumors that the plot of the game is based off of being able to extract memories from genes of a decedent of a 16'th century assassin. I am guessing you play through the memories. So what you are seeing there is one of the more science-fiction elements of the game.
you can read more here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assassin%27s_creed - calvmari, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Look in to past trailers, they go pretty far to make it in character. There's a group of monks whom you can do jobs for to gain reputation (like WoW?). Once you have high enough rep, they let you blend in as a monk when they go praying through the town.
- moiety, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4Any idea who does the music? Really digging it.
- Hananda, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2An assassin wearing a sword in public? What's up with that?
- fotodevil, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2They are showcasing the combat system. Once you assassinate someone, or if you piss off enough people, you will have to fight your way to safety. These scenes are not "assassinations"; they are a defensive move.
- tidu, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3I'm sure Ubisoft can't wait to do some more work on Silent Hunter, a submarine simulator...
- gateway, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2whens it coming out for the 360?
- skeeve, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2they've still got some time to work on it :) maybe they'll pull through.
- muitosabao, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2For, like, the eleventh time UNKLE!!! Read the posts before posting...
- mikeon, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1What I don't get is why keep showing the part where he kills the guy, slowly put him on the ground and close his eyes, while all around him guards are forming a circle and side stepping into each other before the player gets control again and does the wall jump over their heads into the crowd.
That part never made sense in the trailers I've seen since wouldn't the guards just go and stab him in the back instead of circling around him pushing each other with side step motions. - Enix2, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Its looking really awsome right now. Hopefully they get to pull off what they promote.
- BoomWav, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Assassin Creed will be shipped for PS3, XBox360 and PC. For those who wondered. It's being made by Ubisoft Montreal. The same who've done the Prince of Persia serie, Splinter Cell 1, 3. They're currently doing this game and Splinter Cell: Conviction wich I was told to be a revolution too. Assassin Creed use more than 10 000 animations for the main character alone. That's about 20 times the Prince of Persia count. The game is a Action/Adventure/Stealth game. Your character can pass through guards by walking in crowds or in the shadows. You can climb in buildings anyware. Unlike Prince of Persia wich was all scripted. That's about what I read.
- BoomWav, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Here's the gameplay showcase they've made.
http://www.gametrailers.com/player.php?id=13511&type=wmv&pl=game - Hootyea, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1It's /supposed/ to be the spoiler (although, it's just design stuff, and not DNA).
Here's the spoiler anyways.
Stop reading now, if you don't want to know.
Basically, the story takes place in which some organization finds genes in people that are 'links to the past', in order to create some bad-ass super-soldier. Around 80% of the game takes place in a simulation the genes allow, the old, swords and such. Around 20% (I hear varying numbers, but it settles at around 20) takes place in this future part, where you, instead of switch-blade finger, have a jetpack (I jest, but something along those lines obviously).
This /is/ confirmed by a lot of people, a few of the voice actors, and I /think/ Ubi. - moiety, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1URLs got butchered.

- trevah, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1So who's singing? Richard Ashcroft? I'm liking the voice.
- dotorg, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1One of the original trailers was real-time in-game footage...
