The 180 was the first console I bought cause I'm a bit of an MS fanboy, but I still played tons of pc games during its reign, and argued the same thing u are now. Since the 360 has been out though, I've used my pc for practically no games but WoW--and I have a killer rig. Only pc games I'm looking forward to are Crysis and Spor (if Spore ever comes out). I can't even count the games I'm waiting on for the 360.

I am a PC gamer too, and one thing I don't miss about it is the maintenance. I cost time and money and you have to become your own IT department to work through certain issues that can arise in the PC gaming world.
Consoles are in most respects just as functional as any high end 5 thousand dollar PC rig. I look at my PCs and I look at my consoles and honestly the minor differences in graphical Fidelity are just not worth the vast difference in price. Maybe I am biased since I have been playing it most of the day but I like to make my own judgments rather than rely on fan boyish reviews. Getting free games or movies with your system is very smart business for the console makers.

MS will drop the price as much as they can as fast as they can because it's good business. They didn't do this last price drop out of the goodness of their hearts, they did it because their manufacturing process makes it possible to charge less and still make a profit. Sorry this hasn't reached your particular price point yet but they really aren't doing it to harm gamers. They have no more choice than Sony does.

Marvel sucks though, but I only think they would include a game that was licensed by them.

Gears of War is another story, but the games themselves, in terms of price, are meaningless. MS could strike a small deal with Epic if they wanted - guarantee you if they bundled Gears of War with a 360, sales would skyrocket. If you wouldn't fork over the extra cash for the higher-end model, then they still get you with the cheaper one. They're not trying to get any one model to have market dominance, they just want Xbox 360s in every house, regardless of specific model.

He is absolutely right and ironically his suggestions are basically the exact same thing that happened over here in germany at christmas 2006, i.e. 400EUR bundle, with game, 1 year live and a second controller. A few month later XBox360 Premium could be bought unbundled for 300EUR. Now given, none of this where official Microsoft offerings, but a lot of shops offered them, so it wasn't really a special offer. Today however we are back at 350-400EUR with much less exciting bundles if any. Time to finally bring the XBox360 down to 300EUR permanently.
