- eastbeast314, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6I think a lot of people are used to "next-gen" meaning massive bloom and shininess on everything. Halo definitely doesn't have that - but it does have a lot of nice technical things that are subtle instead.
For instance, check out these two pictures. One is Halo 2, and the other is 3. The style is very similar, but the geometry density is completely different in 3.

I think there's a huge difference. Most people react to style changes more strongly than technical changes, but when you look closely at these, Bungie retained the Halo style while improving the graphics technically. - Kiriel, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Ehm... 200 screens? - Nobi-Wan, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Halo 2 was overhyped and under delivered. Halo 3 is actually living up to what Bungie says about the game. The Beta was also proof of their confidence. If we were able to Beta test Halo 2 before it came out I would have had second thoughts about it. Halo 3 seems MUCH more like Halo 1 and that's a good thing.

let me put it this way... halo > ut in that when played at any competitive level halo can crush you and destroy you and frustrate you in ways unimaginable. its really pretty ridiculous. this probably isn't understandable if you've barely played it and never lanned, but seriously, when you are damn good and you run mlg 4v4s the gameplay makes the game essentially perfect. imo i've never played a mutliplayer fps that just takes constant never-ending teamplay as halo does. it's intense. - woodchuckrules, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4I guess we were actually playing a beta after all.

- exodus77, on 10/11/2007, -3/+6y do people insist on continually bashing halo 3 for its supposed lack of graphical oomph? the art style of the game is simple. you can only make a simple art style look so fancy. If u really look at the screens, the effects are much better then halo 2's. Ever gun shot (especially the plasma rifle) is accentuated by fantastic effects. Get over Halo 3 not looking at crazy as GoW (GoW is a great game, but c'mon people this is Halo 3) and understand that the game woudn't look good in GoW type graphics. I personally prefer the art style of Halo over that of GoW's and just because they look different it doesn't mean one of them had worse graphics.

... as opposed to being lazy when creating the game in the first place? GRAW's lack of a firefight that required much strategy aside from taking cover killed campaign replayability. Sometimes their scores are REALLY lopsided and it's almost like they get paid off for some of the scores they give out. They do usually have some good screens though.

- ummcordell, on 02/03/2009, -0/+2Yeah I have my 360 connected to my monitor through a KVM switch, so I can easily switch back between my PC and 360. It's a cheap way to achieve HD beauty. I picked up the KVM for 30 bucks and already had a computer monitor. I recommend doing the same.
