- cbrunet, on 01/08/2008, -5/+38Sounds like a lot of talk to me. Weren't we already expecting most of these titles in 08 anyways?
- furiousmonk, on 01/08/2008, -4/+23No mention of Gears 2 unfortunately.
- Sornos, on 01/09/2008, -4/+22Alan Wake is still alive! *arm pumps*
- FredFredrickson, on 01/08/2008, -1/+15LOL @ "Overly optimistic"
How are they supposed to sound internally? Glum? Have you ever even had a job...? Most execs don't talk about how dismal their year is going to be, no matter where they are or how the year is actually looking. - WhereAmI, on 01/08/2008, -7/+19Because Comcast and xbox are just HUGE in Japan and other territories.
- Managua8Green, on 01/09/2008, -3/+13you're a fat bitch
- xTRUMANx, on 01/08/2008, -5/+14Alan Wake was first announced way before any of this generation's consoles were even released and its still not out. Whatever hype that game had has died by now. Seriously, wtf is wrong with Remedy...
- ickusslime, on 01/09/2008, -1/+10none.... its their job to "leak" them. It's called marketing.
- kaczmar, on 01/08/2008, -2/+9Where is Killer Instinct 3 already!!!!
- norman619, on 01/09/2008, -3/+10What does hating on Microsoft get you?
- nandoc, on 01/09/2008, -1/+7More from the "memo" "While final sales numbers are still being collected, consumers in North America have spent over $3.5 billion dollars on Xbox 360 hardware, software and accessories. That's $1 billion more than consumers spent on the Wii, and $2 billion more than the PS3. When December data is added, we expect Xbox 360 in 2007 to have generated more calendar year revenue than any other gaming platform ever, including PS2 at its peak." "In 2007 the best games in our industry were on our platform, driving better-than-expected sales results for both first and third party games: - "Halo 3" sold 8.1 million units worldwide and logged over 1.5 billion multiplayer matches since launch – that's an average of 14 million matches a day - "Mass Effect" sold 1.6 million units worldwide, after just five weeks on the market - We expect at least seven different franchise titles to have sold in excess of one million units on Xbox 360, including "Halo 3," "Mass Effect," "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare," "Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock," "BioShock," "Assassin's Creed" and "Madden NFL 08"" "Xbox 360 titles have received the highest average review scores this generation according to Metacritic, with the majority of cross-platform titles posting higher review scores on Xbox 360 than PS3." "We have the big blockbuster hits that everyone wanted to play. Of the top 20 best-selling titles in 2007 this generation, 13 were on Xbox 360, compared to seven on the Wii and zero on the PS3 according to NPD. " "When you look at the best-reviewed games, consumers will find that Xbox 360 has more than double the number of titles (81) with a Metacritic score of 80 or higher than PS3 (40), and six times more than the Wii (13)."
Mattrick didn't forget about Xbox LIVE Marketplace.
"We'll begin 2008 by adding even more high definition content to the video store on Xbox LIVE, which is already the largest on-demand library of HD content on the market.
Under our new agreement with the Disney-ABC Television Group, Xbox LIVE members in the US will get access to more than 500 hours of content from the ABC Television Network, ABC Family, ABC News, Disney Channel and Toon Disney, including hits like Lost, Grey's Anatomy, Ugly Betty and Desperate Housewives. Past and current seasons will be available on-demand, with new episodes hitting the service the day after they air on television." - logicalnoise, on 01/08/2008, -3/+9probably one of those yet to be announced lines.
- Christbait, on 01/08/2008, -11/+17Splinter Cell Conviction, Fable 2, Alan Wake and even Halo Wars are all sounding like decent exclusives, but the real meat of the matter here is in those "yet-to-be-revealed titles", they're being a bit slower than other consoles in announcing their big 2008 titles.
- bulgingbritches, on 01/09/2008, -0/+5While the PS3 lineup looks good for 08, I haven't even had time to get to all of 07's games yet on my 360. I'm still finishing the Orange Box, Mass Effect is still in the plastic, GH3 is 1/4 done, Rock Band is in the plastic, and I haven't even gotten to Assassin's Creed, etc. There are SO many good games that I have plenty of time for some new material to hit the market.
PS: 360 owners don't give a ***** about pc gaming. We have migrated from the basement to the living room where there are other people and sunlight. ;) - indiepenguins, on 01/09/2008, -3/+8It comes out on the same day as the PS3 version, plus the 360 is getting exclusive episodic content.
- latpack, on 01/09/2008, -0/+5and the point is...? aren't we supposed to be concerned about "real games" for "real gamers" ? The Wii is an anomaly, its like comparing sales of OSX and Vista. Two completely different markets.
- bmdubya, on 01/09/2008, -3/+7Proper Engrish?
I'm not a fanboy by any means, I have a 360 because it is affordable to me, and I feel like it has a far superior game library compared to the PS3. Plus I couldn't care less about Blu-Ray and that *****. It really doesn't matter for a game console, all that matters is the games. And right now, the 360 has a better line up. Now that can change in the coming months, but I don't see that happening really. - Dracusis, on 01/09/2008, -1/+5Sigh... his Digg name is bilgates, I don't think it could be more obvious unless he put a /sarcasm tag at the end of his post.
- CameronakaCam, on 01/09/2008, -1/+5I really think the 360 is definitely the strongest in terms of software. I have a wii and plan on getting a ps3 but to me the 360 is still the strongest from a logical standpoint. I'm still a huge sony fan and will always be, but logically the 360 is the strongest console. I mean you have great exclusives like Halo and Mass Effect, the achivement system, the greatest online gaming experience, and they try to fix the problems they have. All they need is some really good family friendly or casual games and they could easily win the console wars in the end.
- oldhick, on 01/09/2008, -1/+5I know right? How many internal memos read: Yeah, we got this Xbox 360 thing and some games we're working on might be cool but who really knows. Some of the titles we've released already are doing alright and I think maybe we might even sell some more... But only time will tell. So keep on working and maybe one day we'll look back and think hey, that 360 thing was kind of cool.
- Unclekoolaid, on 01/08/2008, -3/+7no
- BedPost, on 01/09/2008, -2/+6Comcast you say? I'm so sorry...
- palmerized, on 01/09/2008, -1/+4um - these have all been reported to come out in '08 long ago. why is this news?
- jmreid, on 01/08/2008, -0/+3already?
- Dracusis, on 01/09/2008, -3/+6Gran Turismo 5, Metal Gear Solid 4, Little Big Planet, Final Fantasy XIII, Killzone 2, Haze, White Knight Story, Motorstorm 2, Resistance 2, Home and many more. HD Movies from Sony Pictures Entertainment, MGM, Disney, 20th Century Fox, Warner Bros Pictures, New Line Cinema and Lionsgate who are all now Blu-Ray exclusive studios. It already has a DVR system in some regions, and the 360 doesn't yet have IPTV or a DVR. I'll count them when they're out, but not before then. Oh and the 360 HDD upgrade price is, still, an utter joke.
The current 360 games library is better than the PS3, there's no denying that, but the 360 titles for 08 don't hold a candle for what the PS3 has in store. Fanyboy ***** aside, the PS3 looks to have a stellar year lined up, weather or not Sony can manage *not* to ***** it all up is something that remains to be seen, but MS have lot of work to do if they want me to keep spending money on my 360 this year. - Dracusis, on 01/09/2008, -1/+4LOL, you tell `em Bill.
- shaherazad, on 01/09/2008, -2/+5What part of "internal memo" did you not understand? Of course it's all talk!
- Shaflugi, on 01/09/2008, -0/+3..great? I have a 360, so all I care about are 360 exclusives. You don't need to "prove" your console to me.
- jonnyeh, on 01/09/2008, -1/+4Gears of War 2 is almost a certainty in the fall.
- betterth, on 01/09/2008, -2/+5Please elaborate. What does the PS3 offer in 2008 to compete with these exclusives and with IPTV/Cable DVR integration?

I don't see where it says they are being as set top boxes "already" but hey. - FredFredrickson, on 01/09/2008, -4/+7Japan hardly matters at this point. With an install base located mostly in North America, MS sold as many copies of Halo 3 as there are PS3's sold in the world.
- Cerebral, on 01/09/2008, -0/+2and where is KI and KI2 on XBLA?
- tuntcickle, on 01/09/2008, -0/+2that's not even a reason
- aldenhg, on 01/08/2008, -3/+5I didn't see anything about Comcast in that memo.
- Dracusis, on 01/09/2008, -1/+3*****. The only stretch here was Resistance 2 as it doesn't have a release date yet, but seeing as Insomniac Released Resistance 1 in Nov 06, then Ratchet & Clank in Nov 07, it stands to reason that they already have the tech in place and should be able to produce Resistance 2 by Nov 08 even if nothing has been released to the press about it yet.

Deny it all you want, but the PS3 will hit hard this year. - loganhid, on 01/08/2008, -4/+5where you been for the last year or so
- xXShadowstormXx, on 01/09/2008, -2/+3Where did that come from?
- NonLeftistDiggr, on 01/09/2008, -0/+1No, it was supposed to be out for the 360 Fall '07, but they delayed it on the PS3's behalf to release at the same time.
- NonLeftistDiggr, on 01/09/2008, -0/+1Have you ever even had a job...?
FTW - 1jaxstate1, on 01/09/2008, -0/+1How is the Blu-Ray player easily upgradeable.
- Dylson, on 01/09/2008, -4/+5That's ok, it wasn't needed.
- BearinG, on 01/09/2008, -0/+1Yeah the 360 only has 3 games coming this year..
/sarcasm - inactive, on 01/09/2008, -4/+5somebody is a little to close to there box. Defensive much?
- UwasaWaya, on 01/09/2008, -4/+5Wait... the hell? Why is that guy getting dugg down?
And what do you mean, 'wasn't needed'? Ninja Gaiden is still one of the best action games, hell, best looking games, for the Xbox and 360 period. The second one is going to be unbelievable even if it isn't as good as the first. - inactive, on 01/31/2008, -0/+1and anyway who has a pc good enough to run 360/pc games? that is unless they are rich!
and no dont go all i have a job and ***** on me! we have better things to spend money on ;) - theaceoffire, on 01/09/2008, -1/+2I am a ps3 fanboy. Thank you for your proper spelling and punctuation!
The 360 will probably release a new version half way through this year, and until I see what they are gonna do I won't try and make judgments... but if MS plays their cards right, they can still pull a win.
O.o they better lower the hard drive cost though, thats just wrong. - norman619, on 01/09/2008, -2/+3Thh fact that Comcast messes with torrent traffic didn't motivate you but them adopting the XBOX360 as a set top box did? Did mom tell you she thought you were special?
- inactive, on 01/09/2008, -0/+1Word...(shrinks into a corner and hangs his head)
- badsn95, on 01/09/2008, -0/+1 I would buy a 360 to play that game. No over the top BS though just a straight forward updated graphics Killer Instinct.
