- Archaic1, on 01/13/2008, -7/+104What's the first place prize, an all expenses paid holiday to Iraq?
- wardrox, on 01/13/2008, -3/+91Wouldn't Call of Duty be a more suitable game?
- inactive, on 01/13/2008, -4/+37I'm too occupied playing Guitar Hero at the moment - I'll hire Blackwater to compete for me.
- inactive, on 01/13/2008, -6/+36Yeah, because fighting in Iraq over a lie is protecting our lives and freedoms, and not actually doing the opposite by making the rest of the world hate us more.
Good point, good point. - enclaved, on 01/13/2008, -2/+28I'm all for the army standing up for freedom and democracy, I just tend to think that they should do it for America and not other countries.
- theaddicane, on 01/13/2008, -1/+21Well, if Microsoft is endorsing it then it makes sense they would choose Halo.
I'll probably have a go, actually. 100% I'll fail completely, though. - MalTheObscure, on 01/13/2008, -0/+19For some reason I think that entering this tournament will pretty much have the same effect as giving out your contact information to an armed forces recruiter: lots of phone calls and spam.
- inactive, on 01/13/2008, -0/+16Wow! You are my super-cool new idol! How can I be more like you? Randomly brag about how long it took you to complete various video games?
- bmdubya, on 01/13/2008, -2/+16I don't know why everyone is so surprised by this. Plus its not like we can stop this. I don't even think it is a big deal. If the Army is using Halo as a recruiting tool, and people buy it, then they should be in the military. If you can't tell the difference between real war and a sci-fi first person shooter, then you have something messed up in your head.
- HappyScrappy, on 01/13/2008, -2/+16Listen to what people say to you when playing Halo on Live. Do you want these people going overseas and representing us?
- inactive, on 01/13/2008, -0/+13Get in the van, I have Halo 3
- jjb123, on 01/13/2008, -1/+14Either you don't know what suitable means, or that was a bad attempt at fanboy humor.
- zephyr42, on 01/13/2008, -4/+16besides CoD4 is a much better shooter than Halo3 anyways.
- CapeKid, on 01/13/2008, -3/+13Actually, America's Army would be the best choice. Though, not quality wise.
- toxicityj, on 01/13/2008, -0/+9hey, I got muscles.lower arm muscles from...uh..digging..yeah that's why.
- graemee, on 01/13/2008, -0/+9I'll get my 14 yo, better results than mercs.
- AntBing, on 01/13/2008, -0/+9The ones that shouldn't be procreating anyway.
- jbrown101st, on 01/13/2008, -2/+11He's not narrow-minded, just logical.
- truspect0r, on 01/13/2008, -4/+13stfu plz
- mdaize, on 01/13/2008, -0/+8oh yeah... forgot that digg users dont have arm muscles ... what was i thinking :)
- kurtwinter, on 01/13/2008, -0/+8Be Master Cheif!* (* Armor sold separately. May contain extended tours of duty, mandatory involuntary re-enlistment, and no health care upon return if you are injured. May contain ***** reasons to go to war, and hopelessly patriotic calls, and machismo nonsense, such as Fighting Them Over There so We Don't Have to Over Here, which is of no consolation to the victims of the Madrid, London or other attacks. May contain inadequate training and a strong urge to recruit people with sociopath tendencies. Please consult your common sense before joining. May contain only one reason to go to war, they have oil. May contain the involuntary call to liberate oil from other "evil" countries. Please see a recruiting agent wherever the young, the poor or the gullible are. See our posters in your high school or college.)
- truspect0r, on 01/13/2008, -4/+12Hey maybe because PS3/Wii don't have Halo HAHAHAHAHA!
- haterofps3, on 01/13/2008, -1/+9Sadly most halo players are do not fit the physical mold that the army is looking for and due to the ESRB rating of mature only 13year olds are playing it.
- giveer, on 01/13/2008, -1/+9Actually, to be truthful, if it weren't for them, you'd still be British. But hey, your German and commie references sound far more horrifying so good for you.
- ScionX, on 01/13/2008, -1/+8Well aren't you cool.
- khoa1708, on 01/13/2008, -12/+19why is the army supporting such a sorry and overrated game? do they want to create a false impression on how if you join the army you can take an entire clip of ammo and still live? ***SOLDIER!! GO HIDE IN THE CORNER UNTIL YOUR SHIELD RECHARGES***
- ThE0eNiGmA, on 01/13/2008, -0/+7It seems to me that our current problems in the world today largely stem from sticking our noses where it doesn't belong, at least according to those who live outside the U.S. In other words, blame American foreign policy. Yes, there are always extremists both within and outside the borders. Yes, occasionally a foreign country decides to do something that the rest of the world agrees is pretty *****. The army is necessary, but that doesn't mean you have to condone everything it does. That goes double for the federal government.
- LiLPeanut80, on 01/13/2008, -5/+12Dugg for Full Metal Jacket reference.
- Shakermaker, on 01/13/2008, -0/+7Epic Fail.
- inactive, on 01/13/2008, -0/+7US Army recruitment van: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rX3OofKBZPo
- darlyn, on 01/13/2008, -1/+8What?! The US Army uses plasma rifles now? I think its finally time I sign up!
- inactive, on 01/13/2008, -0/+7Freedom is not something you can be issued. Freedom is something you have to TAKE from those who would deny you it.
Look at all the other times we've gotten involved in civil wars, how's that gone for us in the past? - cadmiumpaint, on 01/13/2008, -1/+7the U.S. government has no official sense of humor.
- cadmiumpaint, on 01/13/2008, -2/+8how many kids join the army thinking its going to be a 3-D version of Halo, and then get sent home in a body bag?
- chedabob, on 01/13/2008, -0/+6It doesn't target for you. It gives a little bit of assistance due to the inaccuracy of the analogue sticks. Nearly every console game does it.
- zephyr42, on 01/13/2008, -0/+6were they ever really looking for intelligent people?
- Typhoon2009, on 01/13/2008, -1/+6They're not using halo as a recruitment tool -_- it's to pique interest in the military.
- lardoandkeg, on 01/13/2008, -4/+9While I agree with Frost in that this is a shameless plug, whether you agree or disagree with the blatant promotion, burying the story will only make less people aware of it. Commenting and expressing your opinion is fine, however burying it helps no one.
- andycr512, on 01/13/2008, -0/+5noahhoward: He didn't say the military didn't make America what it is today. He said that the current war hasn't really protected our lives and freedom. Can you give an example of how it has?
- ScionX, on 01/13/2008, -2/+7Meaning it will be held on XBL, & not a convention center with a bunch of linked consoles.
- sw33tsarin, on 01/13/2008, -2/+6"I guess if you're that stupid that you think that way then you're not very smart." Redundancy gets your point across alot better apparently.
- charlievela, on 01/13/2008, -0/+4No. It helps if you don't think of the enemy as a human being.
- mdaize, on 01/13/2008, -5/+9"By putting together a Halo 3 Tournament, exclusively on Xbox Live."
Wait a minute.... You mean Halo 3 is on a console other then Xbox???? - tjdoom, on 01/13/2008, -1/+5http://www.digg.com/xbox/Halo_3_Championship_Tourn ...
- Dotmeister, on 01/13/2008, -0/+4Fail...
It's NOIJ EHT YMRA or in true reverse YMRA EHT NOIJ - tzilla12, on 01/13/2008, -1/+5we need to start using halo tactics in iraq. "When you see an insurgent jump at him with a sniper rifle and try to stick him with a plasma granade".
- Konrad9, on 01/13/2008, -0/+4Inaccurate, tournament got canned like a week ago.
- LegendarySock, on 01/13/2008, -0/+4All of you are ***** idiots. Its YVAN EHT NIOJ
- skyfire1, on 01/13/2008, -1/+4Yeah, but at least they will get their ass kicked for it.
- AntBing, on 01/13/2008, -0/+3You can't play pirated games on XBL. That pretty much rules out all of China I would imagine.
