- arbiterxero, on 10/10/2007, -2/+59Oh, STEERING wheels.... I wondered why someone would put wheels on their Xbox..... didn't make sense.
- funnydale, on 10/10/2007, -7/+54Microsoft steering wheels overheating? Well, I guess that gives the term "Red rings of death" a whole new, ironic meaning.
- totorototoro, on 10/10/2007, -4/+44wtf. First the Xbox360, now the peripherals? Microsoft's hardware division used to be known for putting out high quality stuff-is someone new in charge in that department?
- soccerman90, on 10/10/2007, -4/+41If microsoft made a bowl of cereal it would overheat
- mrfreeziexp, on 10/10/2007, -1/+24Dang, and I thought that was a "feature" to simulate the smell of burning rubber.
- cfd339, on 10/10/2007, -1/+23Like all electronics, these things run on mysterious blue smoke. Once you let the mysterious blue smoke out, they rarely ever work again.
- NeoCortex, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14I'm waiting for a Halo 3 delay, so then we can see reports of fanboys spontaneously combusting.

"Here come the lameasses who think they can make an original joke by relating it to the RRoD." - Ndiggnation, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11Hmm, I have been wondering why they were printed on flashpaper.
- funnydale, on 10/10/2007, -3/+14Dude, considering that I have had TWO Xbox 360 RRoD on me in less than a year, I have every right to make any RRoD joke I want.
If Microsoft wants these RRoD jokes to stop, then they should recall all the systems and fix them rather than doing some half-ass warranty plan. - janzendavi, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11You've really got to wonder how this wasn't realised in testing. Most devices that are supposed to make heat have to be designed just for that. Either Microsoft managed to engineer so poorly that they couldn't even avoid the basics like a product bursting into flames or they decided to do some value-added engineering and make the wheel double as an oven.
- kenvsryu, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Here's a DIY I read the other day. Wrap in plastic, cover in tape, and soak in water.
- Renton, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8GPU, I could understand. A power supply, I could understand. But how the ***** do you manage to make a steering wheel overheat?
- grumbel, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8Back in the days they did the Sidewinder 3D Pro.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -5/+12Jesus christ, is there anything that works with Microsoft's gaming hardware?
- masterskill, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5http://pfordee.com/cullen/misc/homer_no_cook.gif
- xelloss, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Heres the link for Microsoft retrofit form.

- panzergeist, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Let us all hope and pray that Midway never releases NBA Jam on XBLA.
- glxyjones, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Yeah, it's not a bug, but a feature.
If you redline it too much you'll overheat the engine or in this case, a plastic toy steering wheel. - apothekari, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4GODDAMMIT MICROSOFT FOUND A WAY!
After all Taco Bell scientists have discovered...http://www.fourthmeal.com/
No wonder this country's heading down the *****.
1 - Urusai, on 10/10/2007, -3/+7It probably had to do with one of the anonymous Chinese manufacturers deciding to swap good parts with "good enough for Communist China" parts.
- MalDON, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Pretty much any of their keyboards or mice. And the old xbox controllers (while not the best design) were well built.
- fallenone05, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4he asked Jesus Christ, not you...that's rude
- mywhitenoise, on 10/10/2007, -3/+7It'e because it's so easy. Microsoft are the lameasses for not putting a recall into effect.
- totorototoro, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4The Sidewinder controllers were awesome. And their mice were always very solid.
- maddendude, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4It makes not only the driving realistic but the crashes too!
- DeathBorn, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4"This manual will self-destruct in 5 seconds."
"Wait! I haven't finished reading the control scheme!" - ButterBuddha, on 10/10/2007, -7/+11Why does everything Microsoft makes turns to *****????
- xelloss, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I own a 360 wireless racing wheel guess i better get this plug lol
- motorgrator, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5I like hearing these stories and problems about the 360. Just an extra plus of buying a ps3 is getting to laugh at the people who bought a 360. Oh and that guy who duck taped his ps3 vents to keep dust out.
- HappyScrappy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3That's cause it's crap.
http://www.1up.com/do/blogEntry?bId=8306241&publicUserId=571093 - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3We kill you one way or another with crappy product or poison roundeye!
- NsertNameHere, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5Note to MS, fire hardware staff
- incredibilistic, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5Forget about the sterring wheel, imagine how many systems are going to go poof once Halo 3 is released! Even the PS2 wasn't this bad.
- kyrre, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4I still use the Microsoft natural keyboard I got for Christmas 10 years ago. Their mice also used to be pretty solid as totorototoro mentioned. Microsoft needs to fire some of their resent hires.
- Renton, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3I'm using a Microsoft wireless laser mouse 5000, and it's really good quality. Picked it up for only $20 too.
- frygar, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2The 360 wheel, console, or both?
- cannabinemsi, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4yes i do. coincidentally i also realize that it may not be MS that builds the 360 hardware. weird, isn't it?
- allen2003, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3I wonder why all there products overheat to death >_> more like commiting suicide lol.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2While operating in battery mode, the force feedback feature will not be available.
WTF i was going to be an open box one yesterday from FutureShop fro 65 bucks !! Whats the point in having Wireless if i can't have force--feed back ? - Keyframe, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2i would still go buy it, and plug it in. I've used mine for over 6 hours straight without my house burning down. Just keep an eye on the power supply, and make sure you order the replacement from Xbox.
- scabbers, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Even their mice suck nowadays.
- HappyScrappy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3All this could have been avoided if MS opened their platform to 3rd party peripherals (like Logitech wheels) instead of trying to make their own to maximize peripheral profit.
More about the shortcomings of this wheel below:

- jtinnesco, on 10/10/2007, -5/+7because its microsoft.
- Mithrander, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4@glxyjones
It's not a 'bug' it's a 'feature' for a more realistic driving experince - DJNephilim, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Since when is the Commodore64 considered a console?
- Majorkerina, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3Oh no! The hamsters inside are catching on fire!!!
Seriously, this was my first thought. -
