- BongoShack, on 03/22/2008, -8/+355Bill Gates' signature is epic.
- law1ess, on 03/22/2008, -22/+206F*ck Nathaniel.. that ungrateful lucky bastard. Take your new free gifts and like it and stop telling us your p*ssy still hurts.
- xkingADROCKx, on 03/22/2008, -31/+204What an ungrateful *****.
- vasireddy, on 03/22/2008, -6/+179Mistakes Happens. Good work MS.
Wow!! all those signatures makes me want one - ArrakisDune, on 03/22/2008, -5/+157His "Personal Statement" makes him sound like a ***** more than anything.
- chingy1788, on 03/22/2008, -5/+131Signed picture of Bill Gates
we'll just hang it on... that wall - HoratioHellpop, on 03/22/2008, -18/+144//Three weeks ago I told the tragic tale of Nathaniel, a passionate gamer whose custom Xbox 360 got “cleaned” during an extended stay at the Microsoft repair center.// .... "tragic tale" ??!!? He lost some autographs. That's "tragic?" Get a life.
- elitedarkness, on 03/22/2008, -13/+139Wow, is it just me or is that guy kindof a douche bag... he's given all those things; including a new xbox signed by Bill Gates, and reply is "I don't personally view this as its ultimate end."?
- Sundowner, on 03/22/2008, -9/+120I hate Nathaniel he sounds like a bitch!
- krische, on 03/22/2008, -2/+103Is that really Bill Gates' signature? I guess I was sort of expecting a doctor's signature since he has to sign so much crap.
- joshf52, on 03/22/2008, -3/+103It looks like he's just learning to write cursive. It's awesome.
- iticu, on 03/22/2008, -1/+72What do you have against Bill Gates?
Did it he personally come to your house and eat your puppy when you were 10 or something? - skinrock, on 03/22/2008, -0/+70I'm sure he was able to spare an extra minute to sign it nicely.
- G1MPY, on 03/22/2008, -13/+72Kudos to Nathan. The RT guys have always been awesome, but my hope is now returned to Microsoft.
- Deathcow, on 03/22/2008, -32/+89Maybe if 360 didn't red ring in the first place...
- inactive, on 03/22/2008, -1/+56Uhh yes it did. The first goodie bag was from Bungie. Microsoft THEN sent him an Xbox with all types of signatures (more than he originally had), including Bill Gates'. You should learn reading comprehension. It's an invaluable skill.
- Cyberbladewolf, on 03/22/2008, -1/+54He made out better in the end then when he started. He started with a really nice signed 360, and ended up with a 360 signed by more people, and a ton of stuff from Bungie also signed. Hope this time, he leaves the signed 360 alone and just has a plain 360 for use.
- theaceoffire, on 03/22/2008, -4/+51That there is crazy talk!
- fkr3, on 03/22/2008, -1/+46MS responded the day the article was first published.
- stellarceltic, on 03/22/2008, -8/+49Well if you read past that you would see that he has a point. Yeah all the compensation is nice, but his ultimate goal is to see improved customer service so things like this can be prevented.
- Cdiddy69, on 03/22/2008, -5/+45That nathaniel guy is a whiner.
If his original xbox was such a novelty A. he shouldnt have used it for gaming B. He shouldnt have sent it for repair
He gets a compensation far greater than what he had and he is still whining. Not cool - madk, on 03/22/2008, -2/+41I have to say that even through all the problems I've had with the 360, their customer service was the least of them. Nothing but helpful, apologetic and quick.
- HoratioHellpop, on 03/22/2008, -2/+34oy. The retards are out in full force today.
- inactive, on 03/22/2008, -1/+32Microsoft and Bungie are awesome. Nathaniel? Not so much.
- evodude, on 03/22/2008, -6/+37Tragic? Really? How about, just this once, we let you go back and use a different adjective? No? You're going to stick with tragic? Wow.
- Cronus6, on 03/22/2008, -2/+33Holy *****, read the article you are commenting on...
- angrynori, on 03/22/2008, -1/+32He really does sound like a dick, doesn't he?
- myshl0ng, on 03/22/2008, -5/+32Am I the only one who thinks that guy is a damn cockhead. I mean, comon,. it was a bloody drawing (a ***** one) and some autographs by people noone outside the Xbox community knows. Even then, what kind of a moron sends a "relic" like that to the repairs anyway, when they know there is a chance that the whole thing will be whiped.
- lcmatt, on 03/22/2008, -2/+29If you like Bill Gates or Microsoft then the mob will come out and kill you, they always forget how many billions Gates has given to charity though.
- inactive, on 03/22/2008, -0/+27bill, your signature just made me respect you more
- blanktarget, on 03/22/2008, -1/+27They should have left out his personal statement, what a whiner. MS and bungie went above and beyond what they had to do and he was like, "Well it was alright.." kind of statement...
- pcgeek101, on 03/22/2008, -3/+29Someone had to say it. :) Thanks
- rootbeerinacan, on 03/22/2008, -0/+26It looks totally like my 5 y/o brothers signature...
- Tony611, on 03/22/2008, -3/+29yea too bad he still bitched and moaned in his "personal statement"
- perhapsimcrazy, on 03/22/2008, -3/+25Mad props to MS for this
- BTConan, on 03/22/2008, -1/+22Your 5 year old brother is named Bill Gates?
- elitedarkness, on 03/22/2008, -2/+23How does 1 (or even a few) incidents like this constitute the need to "improve xbox customer service"? I've worked in customer service all my life (including at Microsoft), so I have some ground to stand on when I say no, mistakes/incidents can't be "prevented"; all we can do is make them right when they happen.
- inactive, on 03/22/2008, -1/+22wow, his signature has caused me to rethink signatures completely
- volacide, on 03/22/2008, -3/+20Twice.
- MaxPayne3476, on 03/22/2008, -0/+17? I'm confused. Bill Gates has donated generous portions of his income to charity, and it's not something posted everyday in the news. He does promote that he does such things, he's actually quite the humble dude.
- DarkLance, on 03/22/2008, -0/+16...his name was Puddles
- elitedarkness, on 03/22/2008, -2/+18Why don't you go tell "the market" they're that making a bad choice then. MS isn't going to "cease to exisit" as long as millions of people keep buying their products are they? You are an idiot. That is all.
- exomni, on 03/22/2008, -1/+16http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperbole
Hyperbole (pronounced /haɪˈpɝbəli/ or "hy-PER-buh-lee"; "HY-per-bowl" is a mispronunciation) is a figure of speech in which statements are exaggerated. It may be used to evoke strong feelings or to create a strong impression, and is not meant to be taken literally. - 2468ben, on 03/22/2008, -2/+17Yeah I tried to add comments on the blog... saying he should be grateful that his "tragic" event is something so small and reversible... but luckily HawtyMcBloggy removes comments that disagree.
Come on nerds, don't censor the folks who try to keep it real. - linuxpenguin, on 03/22/2008, -0/+14Nice. . . I'd recommend putting a clear coat over it this time. A small spray can of that stuff is maybe $5-10 bucks. . . just take the case and faceplate off, take them both outside (when the weather gets decent) and spray over the ink so you've got a clear coat protecting it.
- mohamedmansour, on 03/22/2008, -2/+16Yea, Microsoft did something really good. They know that this can't be undone, it couldn't ... But they went to great heights trying to do what all they can. That case they gave him back would worth a lot of money. They tried to get all the previous artwork and some signatures that they could and they tried their best. I am sure they are improving the customer servers.
Kudos to Microsoft for fixing this, see they are doing a lot of good things. - Sundowner, on 03/22/2008, -1/+14I hope he gets robbed now they won't replace it a second time muwhahaha!
- PHiZ187, on 03/22/2008, -3/+16I half agree, if you look deep into it, it certainly doesn't rise to the level of "tragic." However, there is a little something called poetic license. Although the author probably went too far in degree by using "tragic," I can't fault him/her for putting some showmanship in their writing...
- akademiks, on 03/22/2008, -5/+18***** Nathaniel.. Still bitching over his signatures of nobodies.. Let it go kid.
