- CReyes4182, on 10/10/2007, -9/+61With a deal like this it'll make even the sony fanboys take a look at the 360(me being one). Two games plus games like Halo 3 and Gear of war are out and waiting purchase. ... Plus a 3 year warranty! Your really paying $260 for the system. Even if it breaks after the warranty it is still a good deal since you'll get your gameplays worth out of it. ***** it.. I might as well have all 3 systems. Congrats MS you won me over :P
- waterdrop, on 10/10/2007, -7/+51Wow that's a great deal especially considering that Forza 2 is a great game.
- lighty14, on 10/11/2007, -2/+45Bundling a M-rated title would significantly reduce the audience for the bundle.
- john2kx, on 10/10/2007, -1/+39good luck with getting him to give up Halo 3 for a few weeks.
- OlnyGuy, on 10/10/2007, -5/+31That's it, Microsoft just got another sale.
- zarex, on 10/11/2007, -8/+29So does this mean those of us who bought 360's already should sue Microsoft?
- ahintoflime, on 10/10/2007, -3/+22Sounds pretty awesome, both games are pretty good. If I didn't already have a 360, I'd buy this. Hopefully once this "Holiday Bundle" is gone, we'll get another price drop :)
- totorototoro, on 10/10/2007, -1/+19Obligatory "Will these have the Falcon chipset" post :p
- KingGoonie, on 10/10/2007, -10/+25Heres an idea Microsoft: Don't make a multiplatform game one of the free games... That way you will give people reason to buy YOUR platform. BOTH games exclusive. I already have Ultimate Alliance and am not a fan of realistic racers... so clicking this link was such a letdown. I mean if it was Gears of War and Forza 2... even if I was not at all interested in Forza I would be much more willing to buy it considering I am planning on getting one eventually anyway.
- Aleman360, on 10/10/2007, -2/+14Packing in M-rated games is not a good idea.
Also, Forza 2 is one of the best racers ever. - Phyltre, on 10/10/2007, -3/+14It's the American way.
- Gerz1219, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11No, you're not making sense. Packing in decent games that aren't selling well gives the illusion of a great deal, while simultaneously clearing out unused inventory. I'm sure a lot of people who will buy the Xbox because of the pack-in would not have bought those two games separately if they weren't packed in. People will gladly pay $60 for Halo 3 and Gears of War, so there's no reason to give them away for free.
- drpunkerz, on 10/10/2007, -8/+19My friend just bought his 360 w/ halo... I'm going to tell him to return it and wait a few weeks.
- Anagrama, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10Good games, but I still contend that Sega was mining digital gold when they packaged "Altered Beast" with the Genesis. Good Times.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9A lot of people would disagree with you
- mywhitenoise, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11He was being constructive, he at least gave reasons why he didn't like it. So if someone doesn't agree with you, then it isn't "constructive"?
- Alegis, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9Gee, I wonder why they don't include games that the owners of the new console are very likely to buy.
Gee. - kcfreels, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Duh. people will BUY Halo 3 and Gears of War. No need to give them away....
They have probably made all the money they would have off of Forza and Ultimate Alliance, so no $120 hit to the bottom line by giving away two games that most people will buy. - EXreaction, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Ah, no, Apple wouldnt do it.
- rupprupp29, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Incase you've been living under a rock for the last 2 months, using Apple's customer service as a good example is not such a brilliant idea.
- popothebright, on 10/10/2007, -2/+10Meh... driving games. It's the one thing that every console has far too many of.
I usually complain that there aren't enough first-person shooters, but the 360 has a fantastic amount with Bioshock, Halo 3 and The Orange Box.
Now I'd love it if there were some more strategy games coming out....
I'm probably more of a geek than most, but If MS *really* wanted to make me happy, they'd announce some new boardgames. No seriously -- imho, CATAN on XBox Live Arcade is among the most underrated titles on the console. Carcasonne is up there too. Every once in a while you have to take a break from the intensity of Halo 3, Oblivion GOTY and Gears of War...
Come on MSFT, go to boardgamegeek.com and pick your next port...
Ok.. I know I'm probably alone on this... - DarkPrince11, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8The reason they're not packing Halo 3 and GoW is because they are rated M games. You can't pack 2 rated M games with a console package. Won't exactly appeal to those ESRB loving parents.
- ElRayQuieres, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8Pack it with Halo 3 and they lose an ass load of money every time it sells
- cawpin, on 10/10/2007, -3/+10debth? Is that the AMOUNT of money you owe?
- heathuff23, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8"I just bought a second 360 to weeks ago"
to = 2 or two
instead of a $100 credit, maybe they should send you a "Hooked on Phonics" kit. - ZenMojo, on 10/10/2007, -3/+10Wow, the 360 is winning me over just as the PS3 had me....eerie....
- dillonstars, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6so you can get another one then?
- Jennyd6, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7We will be purchasing a 360 for the holidays, and this offer makes it a little easier. However, I would like to see different packages available. If I had a choice in the games that came with the package, then I would be even more likely to plop my $400-$500 bucks down.
- damndl0ser, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Yes M$ does have problems with the RROD and they have been addressing it with a 3 year warranty, and a redesign what more can you ask for? Get over it, jeez.
- norman619, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6It'd be nice if they made the games optional or better yet let you choose 2 games you would actually buy.
- TheTaoOfBill, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6I'm glad you had your moment to feel superior to me. Now how about you go read a dictionary and jack off or something and let the rest of us have a discussion.
- pseudo.hero, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5yeah and Ultimate Alliance is pretty fun.
- fenixconnektion, on 10/10/2007, -6/+11What's eerie is how the PS3 had you in the first place. Unless, of course, you don't care about games.
- pseudo.hero, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6thank you for bringing up old news. Find something new to insult on the system or better yet say nothing, it'lll make us all feel better.
- TheTaoOfBill, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5So we can have more people to play with on live. :)
- Phyltre, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6That is not a mental image we need. Go to /b for that!
- kyrre, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I am sorry. But the opposite of anti-aliasing would be aliasing. The word means opposite.
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/anti - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Good thing you can turn around, walk right out of that house and return it then, huh?
- random12345, on 11/16/2008, -0/+4Its about time they give a game with the console again and not a crappy demo. What was the last time a game with your console was a standard practice? N64??
- mercano, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4They probably picked these games because they are older, so it's unlikely a new XBox buyer would pick them up otherwise, so no lost software sales. Plus, at this point, they can probably get them pretty cheap from the publishers, especially in bulk.
When did the N64 have a packin? I thought it was the first Nintendo system to not come with a game included. (Unless it was the Virtual Boy.)
I'd also add the original GameBoy packins, Tetris and latter Link's Awakening (the package I got all those years ago). - Shawn4168, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6It would be amazing if they included GOW as one of the freebies, but it would never happen. I'm sure that a lot more people would actually pay extra for GOW than people that would pay extra for ultimate alliance. It makes sense marketing-wise. Besides, they're giving us 2 free games, so I'm not complaining.
- sjbdallas, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5I'm a 360 owner and I haven't ruled out buying a PS3 someday, but it will take an incredible game to make me do it.
- objectcode, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4or maybe not. don't see it happening
- r3m1x, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5This doesn't come as a surprise to us Canadians as we have had free games bundled with our X360s longer than the Americans.
- Treshnell, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6Just the excuse I've been looking for to buy a 360!
- KingGoonie, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5Yes, that is what they should do... either give a choice or have different packages (sports package.... FPS package... etc)
- AwesomeMonster, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Good games, that being said, it has nothing on Sega Rally Jet Set Radio Future combo. Man I wish Sega would continue the JSR franchise.
- omgroffles, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Because believe it or not, Microsoft giving these games away is much much cheaper than selling the 360 for $90 less.
So they keep the higher profit margin (or lessen their loss) on every console sold, while the consumer feels like he just got a good deal. Same thing as Sony giving away free Blu-ray movies. - logicalnoise, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3***** you spammer
- bigfatpaulie, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3They really don't need a response, since Sony pretty much killed any positive buzz with their $400 model by gimping it with no backwards compatibility at all.
