- inactive, on 11/06/2008, -4/+40Starcraft 2 is going to be so epic.
- cease, on 11/06/2008, -5/+28I'm interested in seeing how it will turn out. RTS games on a console are usually pretty weak. I doubt it will compare to Starcraft 2 (whenever it's released).
- kinseyincanada, on 11/06/2008, -1/+20well i guess we know when the Mythic map pack is coming out
- SickAndDying, on 11/07/2008, -2/+17mmmm Starcraft 2
- ultraJesus, on 11/06/2008, -7/+20I'm still mad about them killing Ensemble.
- PiRATE7, on 11/07/2008, -7/+17rts+console= fail
releasing an rts anywhere near the release of starcraft 2= fail
space rts that isnt starcraft= fail
insufficient pylons= fail
so microsoft is working on many levels of fail here... - dharasick, on 11/07/2008, -2/+9I completely forgot this game was even coming out. I have a trailer for this from 2006, I swear.
- inactive, on 11/06/2008, -3/+8they were ready to release this over a year ago
- LimeParrot, on 11/07/2008, -1/+6You can't compare ANY RTS (except SC1) to Starcraft 2 regardless of PC or console. SC2 is completely unique because it's built for and supported post-release to be a competitive RTS (by the wonderfully competent Blizzard). Halo wars is more for fun... so compare it to, say, Company of Heroes or Command & Conquer.
- SiRWhxr, on 11/07/2008, -1/+5"As an extra incentive to preorder, certain retailers will offer a download for a unique in-game Warthog sporting flame decals. That seems a bit out of place in a Halo game, but people do love them some flame decals. "
Warthog with flames better than a go kart with flames? - inactive, on 11/07/2008, -1/+5You already know it's 100000 times better? Have you played it already , or are you just a douche? I'm going to go with douche.
- robbob, on 11/07/2008, -0/+4Perfect. I'll have an S-load of gift cards by then
- AndrewDB, on 11/07/2008, -1/+5Just plug in your USB keyboard and it'll work on your 360... at least for typing.
The mouse though, I can't help you with. :( - Melancholiatic, on 11/07/2008, -0/+4Company of Heroes for fun?
Oh lord, you have to be kidding. Company of Heroes is like the chess of RTS.
Starcraft is geared towards tactics. Company of Heroes is geared towards strategy.
They're both quite competitive. And aggravating. - littlejohn134, on 11/07/2008, -1/+5Christ, should there be no other RTS than Starcraft 2??? Well maybe, but still I ll be giving it a go for sure.
Hope it comes out for PC tho. - Jaymoon, on 11/07/2008, -0/+3It looks like C&C for 360, with Halo characters:
http://www.gametrailers.com/player/42314.html
...and comparing it to C&C on a console, is not a good thing BTW. - system5y, on 11/08/2008, -0/+3using the term fail = fail
- LimeParrot, on 11/07/2008, -0/+3I think I worded it a little badly. Company Heroes isn't JUST for fun, but the amount of effort Blizzard puts into developing an RTS like SC2 is simply unmatched. Starcraft1 has three races which are all amazingly balanced, despite fundamental differences in the way each race plays. Company of Heroes is a great game (one of the greatest RTS I've ever played) but it doesn't have highly balanced sides and is NOT built for competitive games where the winner wins $20,000.
(And Starcraft is about macro-management skills more than anything else you mentioned). - TonyTheTerrible, on 11/07/2008, -4/+7it wont beat starcraft 2 but ill be glad to try it out
- FredFredrickson, on 11/07/2008, -1/+4I can't say I'm particularly excited about this game, but thank goodness they aren't dropping ANOTHER game on us this holiday season. I'm kind of pissed off about that.
- VVCephei, on 11/07/2008, -1/+4Halo wars wont have anything on Starcraft 2.
- YouRookies, on 11/07/2008, -3/+5As much as I hate to say it (I hate Halo for being overrated), these were the same exact scenarios when Halo was released on Xbox.
FPS on consoles = fail
Space FPS that wasn't Unreal Tournament = fail
Releasing anything FPS near Half Life 2, CS:S = fail
The one and only thing that makes me believe in Halo Wars is Ensemble Studios. - SAOSiN, on 11/07/2008, -1/+3Just like halo 1 and 2 it had a few missions that were a lot of fun. Play it, the multiplayer is always fun.
- Juntistik, on 11/10/2008, -0/+2Microsoft is devoting all its resources to constructing additional pylons.
You have to give them time... - Lunarbunny, on 11/07/2008, -0/+2I have a feeling it will turn out good, especially because it isn't porting a PC RTS to the console. It's designed to work with the limited control set of a console. I say this as a person who felt Halo 1-3 were overrated.
I'd say more but Microsoft might have a problem with that. - PiRATE7, on 11/07/2008, -0/+2sorry but I'd have to agree with him. Hes not saying there arent successful console shooters, hes just saying that they suck. you simply cant play an FPS nearly as well on a console. just watch halo players, even the pros, their motions and movements are all jerky and sloppy, where as everything is much better controlled and accurate with a mouse/keyboard.
- du4l1ty, on 11/09/2008, -0/+2At least it isn't golden.
- adamflight, on 06/28/2009, -2/+4Finally!
- Firespray1138, on 11/07/2008, -0/+2Not going to lie, I'm tempted to buy that Collector's Edition...
- Ugotownedo, on 11/07/2008, -1/+2Bout damn time. I hate how they announce games 3 or more years before they are even released.
And it'd better be good, it's been a while. - dig1x, on 11/08/2008, -0/+1MS has been very conservative about that actually.
As a comparison, i invite you to see what Sony has done with Ratchet & Clank. Or, Nintendo's done with Mario... Sega and Sonic. - Tacorian, on 11/07/2008, -0/+1I miss Myth, I still take it from it's dusty shelf and give it a go every now and then.
- dig1x, on 11/08/2008, -0/+1MS still owns the AoM IP.
Perhaps Ensemle-Staff's new studio will be interested in doing this?
MS is Doing The Right Thing by getting out of the Game publishing business.
Why? Because NOT competing with your partners & clients is the 1st rule of business.
MS needs its partners/clients to know, it is not going to play its *own* product as "favorite" and scuttle their opportunity.
Its VERY good decision. Imagine the parallel in the Film Industry -- you dont want Production/Distribution studios owning theater chains, because soon, they'll push out independant film.
MS is doing the same thing here, and it is very smart -- and excellent for the over-all health of the platform and wider industry. - Sh0rtstak, on 11/06/2008, -5/+6its about time
- system5y, on 11/08/2008, -0/+1i did not know that
- snagra, on 11/07/2008, -5/+6RTS games are annoying on consoles. They are so much better on the PC.
- DirtyBinLV, on 11/07/2008, -0/+1Upon further review, it's being made by the guys who did Age Of Empires (1/2/3). That was a pretty great series.
- TaylerPERRY, on 11/17/2008, -0/+1I'm not sure on whether to buy this.
I think I will, cos the idea of a Command and Conquer style game but in the style of Halo - sounds sweet.
But with Ensemble's rep, I dunno.
We'll see. - dig1x, on 11/08/2008, -0/+1Sweet. This looks like an excellent title, perhaps this will finally break the "RTS wont work on a console" urban-myth like Halo did to the "FPS wont work on a console" myth.
Looking forward to it. - abajaj2280, on 11/07/2008, -1/+2what a kickass halo party in that box, i mean just LOOK at everything that comes with it!
- bulgingbritches, on 11/07/2008, -1/+1Absolute *****..... It looks perfectly fine on my Samsung PN50A650, which is 1080P capable.
- inactive, on 11/07/2008, -1/+1well you know the answer already, hint: overhyped mediocre piece of ***** like all the other halos
- xino, on 11/07/2008, -1/+1So basically since YouRookies doesn't play FPS on consoles, that means there has never been a successful FPS on a console. That is some weird logic.
- 12340987, on 11/07/2008, -1/+1is there a MS halo 4000 xp elite gold edition with headset I can buy?
- inactive, on 11/12/2008, -0/+0Should be a good time!
- rowlodge, on 11/07/2008, -1/+1doesn't make sense to leave out the legendary pack unless it will be free before then, does it?
- dig1x, on 11/08/2008, -1/+1I'm not mad at them at all. In fact, I'm happy that they are seeming to be moving away from Game Production themselves.

(part of this is copied from a post I made below, but I think *many* people dont understand why they done want Nintendo, Sony nor MS owning both the platform (theater) and the studios (production)). - patrick159, on 11/13/2008, -0/+0Halo Wars is going to awsome. It should have voice command like End War but oh well at least im getting mine free. and im willing to help show anyone how.
- freedomorfire, on 11/07/2008, -2/+2really? who cares.. i mean why get excited over an FPS series.. going RTS.. why.. tell me one game where the transition was good and awesome. All you fan boys should stop going crazy over anything halo and start thinking about better game concepts.
- Sniper, on 11/07/2008, -1/+1Microsofts attempt at competing with Killzone 2?
