- RubberBand, on 11/12/2007, -27/+560You know you're a ***** parent when you're only option when your kid misbehaves is to call the cops.
- b33b3s, on 11/09/2007, -10/+234See Bungie, this is what happens when you change the melee system!
- has2k1, on 11/06/2007, -10/+176It is not Halo that caused the problem. It is the lack of it.
- thedonutofdoom, on 11/06/2007, -12/+167The deputies entered his room using a key kept by the mother, but also fell foul to the youth’s rage: he managed to punch one deputy square in the face before being restrained and handcuffed. He would later be turned over to the state juvenile authorities of charges of battery-domestic violence and battery on a law enforcement officer.
PWNED! - leebo, on 11/09/2007, -12/+138Even if she's a single mother. She should have been disciplining (read smacking the whiney bratness out of him) when he was younger. Parent's fault.
- Azimuth1, on 11/06/2007, -15/+137To be fair, if she's a single mum there might not have been much she could do to restrain her son, who could've been taller and stronger than her.
- Ayumi01, on 11/06/2007, -1/+123lol Jack Thompson is totally fapping to this right now.
- fleury29, on 11/06/2007, -2/+108I am bigger then my mother and I would never dream of hitting her. If the parent is a good one, they bestow fear/respect from when the child is young. I constantly fight with my mother, even in the heat of battle striking her never crosses my mind. Not to say that its not hard to be a single mother, I'm just saying it can be done.
- DeviantDragon, on 11/06/2007, -8/+108That kid was...RUNNING RIOT
- Kempswich, on 11/06/2007, -17/+94Resistance: Fall of Mom?
- darkfeary474, on 11/10/2007, -8/+84Naaa this kid was just wanting to do what he wanted to do and not listen to the mother .. and in my eyes he needed a swift kick in the ass for what he did but then again parents don't have the right to bust there kids A$$ anymore and have true discipline because people out there want to cry "Oh its Child Abuse" and the ones who do cry "Child Abuse" are the ones who want to run there mouths when stuff like this happens and say " Oh well its the parents fault they should discipline there kids" Yadda Yadda.... I know when i was young and my parent told me to do something ...I DID IT! and if i didn't or even thought about getting mouthy with my parents i knew what i had coming ... back then kids listened when told the first time to stop or not to do something , now a days they just try to run over not only parents but adults in general because they know they can and can get away with it.
- smotpoker1, on 11/07/2007, -2/+72A father would have beat the little snot within a inch of his life for hitting his mother. She's obviously a single mom.As it stands now I hope the court punishes him by no video games of any kind till 21 years old and then a psych evaluation,100 hours community service of cleaning sewers to remind him of real life.
My daughter hit her mom and I whooped her ass,She called SS on me.They punished me by saying I was too tough on her. They put her with my nephew because that's where she said she wanted to go and I can't call her.Now she 17 with a kid and didn't finish school.I would like to beat the bitches ass (Social Services bitch) that took my daughter away and used her as a social experiment and put her where her immature mind decided it wanted to go.
She hit her mom because her mom didn't want her going out with a 20 year old punk.At the time she was 15.Now I have a 17 year old teen taking care of a baby and the father on parole.Needless to say I have no respect for the Government that spoils the child and punishes the parent. - shinobiwest, on 11/06/2007, -11/+79kid must have really wanted that chocolate milk
- statix, on 11/06/2007, -10/+77Halo 3: Finish the Fight
- Echuta, on 11/06/2007, -5/+69Haha what a little wank.
- graemee, on 11/05/2007, -1/+56How many XBL achievement points does he get?
- souljaboytellem, on 11/03/2007, -2/+56Kick the kid in the nuts, that should take him down
- Nobi-Wan, on 11/05/2007, -3/+54I think I played against this kid the other night.
- firechill, on 11/05/2007, -2/+53good thing he wasn't playing GTA at the time or he would have stolen her money and beat her with a bat afterward.
- r4ygun, on 11/04/2007, -2/+52i would sell or give away every single toy that kid owned...
- Trax91, on 11/05/2007, -5/+55I would sledgehammer the door and continue to smash and destroy the console into a million pieces after kicking him in the nuts and bitchslapping him.
- inactive, on 11/04/2007, -0/+49Your mom's a ninja? Sweet.
- Bdog2g2, on 11/03/2007, -8/+54***** THAT..
You BESTOW fear. This isn't a government body, its your parents. My mother ( a single mom) instilled the fear of God in me, and to this day, and I'm 29, I won't cross her. I know she doesn't mind hoping on a plan flying 700 miles, enduring a 2-4 hour layover, dealing with traffic in South Florida, just to come kick my ass and set me straight.
Meanwhile my father, has three children of his own, and though that spanking wasn't right, and 2 of his three ended up in either juvenile hall or jail. The irony is he criticize my mother for spanking me, and I'm the only child he has that has college degrees.
The problem is too many parents try to be buddy buddy with their kids. Your kids aren't your friends, they are YOUR KIDS. If you want to be friends with them, your ride them hard for the first 18 years, then you gradually work on a friendship with them.
I've seen too many parents say "Oh I'm tough with my child.", only to see them punish the child with a "time out" and then right afterward give them a treat to make them feel better, because they parent felt guilt.
If you use the right punishment at the right time, it will bestow fear and respect. If you always use the same punishment (even spanking) too many times, then it won't matter. Its a delicate balance.
Too much of what's wrong with out society is other people thinking that their way is the best way and then punishing parents who actually give a *****. (e.g A guy down here in S. Florida lost custody of his child for spanking the child b/c he lied to him, the teachers, and got ***** grades). - MarkOfTheDead, on 11/03/2007, -2/+44Still, it's gotta suck to be that deputy. "How was work honey?" "Oh, okay I guess, some little product of bad parenting douchebag punched me in the *****' face after slugging his mother over a video game. Typical wednesday night I suppose."
- Audacitor, on 11/04/2007, -3/+44There was one time a few years ago that it crossed my mind. Then her karate skillz crossed my mind too...
- NnyCW, on 11/04/2007, -0/+40I've played many people online on popular console games like Gears of War and both Halo 2 and Halo 3...I wouldn't at all be suprised if the kid was as old as 17.
I've also seen many a small mother, whom even if the child was 12, could still have been taller and stronger. - Leo21k, on 11/04/2007, -3/+42Or that you raised a kid that would punch his own mother in the face.
- scallon, on 11/05/2007, -5/+44please give it up already
- coyote1284, on 11/05/2007, -2/+37Parents of the 80's and before had The Force! When I finally figured the I could block my mom from slapping me when I mouthed off, she said, "You WILL let me slap you." I had no choice but to let her slap me.
- Okari, on 11/05/2007, -5/+40I doubt that the kid was over 12 if he was acting that way. For punishment, she shouldn't ship back the 360 when it RRoD's and see how much he likes that.
- coyote1284, on 11/02/2007, -2/+36She's a ***** parent because the kid became the type that would punch his mother in the face over being told to turn off his video game and go to bed. Children of good parents don't do that. Good parents would have no reason to call the police because thay are THE PARENTS, not friends, but a dominant force in the child's life. BTW you don't have to abuse a kid to establish dominance, just be consistant in your discipline. Teach a child from as soon as they are self-mobile that there is ALWAYS a consequnce for their actions that doesn't include being set infront of the TV just to get them out of your hair.
- chillypacman, on 11/03/2007, -1/+30in all fairness there was a 50/50 shot that punch would have come back to hit him since their health was equal.
- Exhaust, on 11/03/2007, -2/+30Excuses, excuses. The kid has a 360 and Halo 3 take that ***** away from the brat as well as smack the ***** out of him. There is no excuse for this. People you like are why this ***** happens. Go to the corner for time out Billy! ***** that SMACK SMACK look i cut the power supply cord for your 360 how you like that! Now talk back again!
- doshindude, on 11/03/2007, -20/+47Blame Halo 3.
- BannaEast, on 11/07/2007, -5/+32His mom should sell his XBox and get him a PolyStation 3 as punishment
http://digg.com/playstation_3/PolyStation_3_Review - Mr.Gone, on 11/05/2007, -3/+29I would have been smacked into oblivion for trying crap like that as a kid. When did we stop hitting are children for being little douches again? I for one have to smack down/applaud the mom on this one. It's obvious the kid is under 18, why does he have an M rated game? Also thank you for removing one of those obnoxious under aged dolts from Live, even for just a little bit.
- Freetime000, on 11/04/2007, -1/+26Even some kids with the best parents still turn out bad, vice versa, some kids with the worst parents turn out great. Free will and some kids are just born evil man!
- MarkOfTheDead, on 11/05/2007, -1/+26Trax SMAAAAAASH!
- Comanche, on 11/04/2007, -5/+30This is why fathers need to be there. If I ever did something like that I would not be alive.
If I was the father, I would smashing the kids xbox, take a pic of it, frame the pic with the halo3 disc, and hang it up so he could see what he would never be able to do this the house ever again. - Uberperson, on 11/03/2007, -3/+27He is probably one of those kids that grow up with basically no restrictions on anything involving debauchery(such as halo 3, WoW, the internet in general...), until his parents decide they actually want their kid to be somewhat social. This of course leads to...people being punched in the face.
- elishagrey, on 11/03/2007, -2/+25I hope the cops Teabagged him!
- knetworx, on 11/05/2007, -0/+23Seeing as though it's too late for the spankings, I vote cattle prod.
- banthis, on 11/04/2007, -1/+24I remember back when GameBoy Advanced came out, I used to play it sooo much, i will ignore anything my parents tell me. So dad decided to smash it agaisnt the wall, and that was it.
- Sithlrd, on 11/03/2007, -5/+26Most states recognize the parental right to whip their children. If yours doesn't, then for the sake of your children, MOVE and start with the spankings.
Boy am I glad I never punched my mother. I'd have been dismembered and had the wounds cauterized so I wouldn't die before my father got home so he could finish the job. If you're "man" enough to start punching people, then you're "man" enough to get beat down like a man.
I spank the be-jesus out of my children. Why? Because they have to know there are Bad Things that happen when you willfully screw up or just let your brain relax enough to do stupid stuff. Result: I have two children in my house that I can take anywhere and am confident they'll act right. The eldest walked up to someone in the bookstore the other day whose vermin was screaming and said "You don't spank him do you? Too bad." They don't play video games... why? It causes them to relax that brain and act like they've been on a weekend-long marijuana bender. My kids play OUTSIDE, no matter how hot or (sometimes) cold it gets (115 this August!). Playing, running, getting scrapes and bruises, getting into and out of trouble makes them the people they need to be. Playing video games before they learn impulse control makes them fat, willful, idiots... like the imbicile in the story. - terracottapai, on 11/04/2007, -1/+22Your dad is hardcore.
- Exhaust, on 11/05/2007, -0/+20My parents used to tell me "Go ahead call child abuse. They can come get you and you can live with them if you don't want to follow my rules". Yeah didn't sound like a good idea... Just follow the rules and you get to play with your transformers and Atari. Much better deal.
- Ninnux, on 11/05/2007, -5/+24Oh please. Kids have been hitting their mothers and fighting with the police since the dawn of ..... um, police.
- Audacitor, on 11/03/2007, -2/+21Link for the unenlightened: http://www.break.com/index/blame-halo-3.html
- UncleJaysus, on 11/02/2007, -9/+28Blame Canada
- noahgelman, on 11/05/2007, -15/+34That is uncalled for. You don't see kids with a Wii hurting other people - they hurt themselves when they swing the remote and their hand hits something or the remote flys through a window or the TV. Nintendo knows how to protect people.
