- OlnyGuy, on 10/10/2007, -7/+51I congratulate Microsoft for doing such a good job shipping great amounts of the game! Every store near me has copies almost twenty hours after release. This is a good example of a company working for everybody that wants to play Halo.
- MillionsLivio, on 10/10/2007, -7/+39Having played the game for the last 20 hours, it kicks major ass.
- AntBing, on 10/10/2007, -5/+24People who use Hitler as their photo are *****. By the way, no matter how many Halo stories you post that comment in you'll still be buried. Get a life.
- RationalAntaxia, on 10/10/2007, -3/+17Just a tip.
If you play Halo, watch after the credits!!!! Bungie gave us another little surprise!!! You won't be disappointed. - blahtastic, on 10/10/2007, -1/+15There were even a few extra legendarys to be found.. Everyone willing to pay that much ordered it already, but it's impressive just the same.
- 1337Einstein, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13Said like a true halo-playing nine year old runt overcompensating his inadequacies by overusing obscenities.
- TheNik, on 10/10/2007, -3/+15I guess a couple of million people are *****, then.
- zenmeyang, on 10/10/2007, -3/+13I'm Army stationed in Japan and the PX didn't get any in it's weekly stock shipment. The stock guy said that they should get some next week. I'm not the only one who asked since a little while later they put up a sign saying that they didn't get any in. They had a brown Halo Zune though. :P So it's going to be a long week of sad envy watching everyone get a weeks head start.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10Are you seriously criticizing a gaming company that, for ONCE, actually met the demand and didn't make thousands of people who didn't pre-order go home gameless or wait in excessively long lines? You sir, are a moron.
- AndrewDB, on 01/10/2008, -0/+9Hey Tejiant.. just letting you know, there is a key above the right shift button, and below the pipe and back slash button.
It's labeled Enter or Return. Hit it a few times when typing.
It'll make your posts a bit easier to read. - DiggsOnlyNeoCon, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9Gamestop tried to convince me I needed to preorder. "I'VE ALREADY GOT MY 10 COPIES ACCOUNTED FOR," the employee yelled. Oh, don't worry, Best buy has a freakin TABLE full with a dedicated Halo employee.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -3/+9I enjoy all the people who act like a video game release is synonymous with a console release.
Retailers never run out of games. Period.
Compare it to stores who get maybe 20 Wiis once every 2 weeks vs 200 copies of one game. - TheNik, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6You jump floaty because of your armor, duhh.
- Coffeedemon, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5"Like Planetside?"
Yup - but Halo did it 2 years prior. - Coffeedemon, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Which is why people like Halo so much.
- 1337Einstein, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7Did you play it?
- aylesford, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7...and judging by your verbal diarrhea, the amphetamines you took haven't worn off yet.
- 1337Einstein, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4You know me, always the die hard conformist.
Although I fail to see any reason not to inquire as to the claimant's credentials. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4A game doesnt have to introduce anything "new and awsome and revolutionary" to be a great game. Halo just does everything it does very well. The multiplayer is of course the best part.
And yes, I have played plenty of other FPS games. Bungie has always made great shooters. - 1337Einstein, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4You forgot to mention rubber and glue, I think you were supposed to integrate that somehow.
- wild, on 10/10/2007, -4/+8So now that all of the Halo kids are coming up for air, is today the day we see the front page filled with Halo stories as they catch up? It was so nice to only see two yesterday...
- austin63, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5no, today is the day the video section gets filled up by the new video recording feature.
- dysonlu, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Nice MS butt kissing there. Of course they're gonna ship enough games. They've been in the software business longer than you exist in this World I'm sure. If they were able supply sufficient amount of copies of Windows and Office to satisfy demand, they are surely capable of doing the same for 100x fewer demand for Halo 3. And besides, MS knows Halo 3 is the Xbox360's bread and butter.
- Dracusis, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Yo, dude, the big fat reverse L shaped key to the right of your keyboard, yeah, the "enter" key, found it? Good, now repeat after me.
I must use proper paragraphs or people will think I'm an Asshat.

I must use proper paragraphs or people will think I'm an Asshat.... - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -3/+7How is it over-hyped when the fans were the ones hyping it, and all the reviews (and players including myself) believe it met the expectations? It's a popular game with beautiful graphics, a deep storyline, amazing soundtrack and a very good mix of gameplay. Why the ***** WOULDN'T it be hyped?
- miriv365, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Only being able to carry 2 weapons. Made you make tactical decisions with regards to what you could afford to carry into a level.
- latova, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4CLIFF HANGER AGAIN! THOSE BASTARDS!
- MWeather, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4The ~ is the any key.
- AndrewDB, on 01/10/2008, -2/+5WoW isn't revolutionary. It just does a lot of things right.
- Tejiant, on 10/10/2007, -6/+9I would have to agree with piccard. I picked my copy up at midnight, got home, waited for my friend to get home with his, then another XBL buddy got his copy so we all pulled an all nighter and beat the game on legendary mode. We beat it in roughly 7-8 hours. We all felt the story wasn't even close to being as compelling as the first or even the 2nd Halo. The backgrounds and lighting in the game was beautiful, but the contrast on textures of MC and Arbiter vs all other npcs in the game were too distracting. And perhaps it's due to me playing Heavenly Sword 2 weeks ago, but the movements and facial animation weren't at all impressive. We were supposed to start on Earth, but the jump physics felt like we were fighting on the moon. I know majority of the people won't care too greatly about those things, but this being the hugely hype "Finish the Fight" and play through it's lukewarm campaign story, I was sorely dissappointed. I remember reading an article of one of the Bungie guys saying how they were pressured and rushed on Halo 2 that they didn't get to really finish that story arc the way they wanted to. Halo 3 basically felt like the last hour of game they didn't finish for Halo 2, just expanded into a game. Haven't tried the vs multiplayer yet, but it's kinda hard for me to get back into Halo vs rounds after being subjected to Call of Duty 4 beta for almost a month. I know they're too entirely different games, but imo COD4 > Halo3. Obviously as over hyped Halo 3 was, we should have known it wouldn't live up to the hype it generated, but I went in with an open mind with just a few criteria the game should meet and I still came out dissappointed. All the Halo fanboys can digg me down for blasphemy against your holy grail of games, but remember this is coming from a fan of the series. Also on a minor note. The legendary edition comes with the coveted Spartan Mk. VI helmet that opens up to reveal a ammo cartridge that holds 3 dvd cases for the trilogy. I myself did get the legendary edition, and it includes an awesome exclusive discs, one with background "making of halo 3" stuff, and a 2nd disc with all the cutscenes from Halo 1 and 2 and a bit of game play to tie in the cut scenes together. Since all Legendary editions are getting this, why didn't they make the container hold 4 discs since I'd definitely want to keep these together?
- taintedzodiac, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Is there a reason you would need to order a game and system from Dell.ca? Was it some kind of discount deal that you couldn't get elsewhere?
- latova, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Agreed. Me and my friend recently finished playing the entire campaign from beginning to end in about two sittings using online coop. You could do it in one if you wanted to.
Here's a screenshot of me driving us and almost going off a cliff and making a last second save (no spoilers):
http://img103.imageshack.us/img103/5402/128304full ... - NSMike, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Um, 200 copies is NOT typical stock for a video game.
The difference here is that new console hardware yields are typically low, so production is slow.
Pressing discs is CONSIDERABLY easier and a more refined process than putting out a new console, so making sure supply meets demand for discs is a lot easier. In this case, the demand merits a huge supply.
And retailers DO run out of games. It would have to be a surprising number of sales that weren't expected, though. For a long time I couldn't find Phoenix Wright. - worldsbestgamer, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Give it a month and the annoying kids will take over. Especially once the holidays hit. I wish my 360 didn't break so that I could enjoy the fun while it lasts.
- aardwolf, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5I made a short video of the Halo 3 release in my city. One gamer's antics in particular had me ROFLing.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42bcUUV1c7s - ericrous, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Depends on the size of the shelves.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3So what if it isn't revolutionary? Not every game can be revolutionary, but if they get most or all of gameplay / difficulty / sound / graphics / immersion /reply value correct, I don't give a crap. The Halo franchise, thus far, has been very fun and very addictive. After a couple hours of playing yesterday, it seems they've delivered on this one, too.
- eRock08, on 10/10/2007, -7/+9"Halo is for *****."
Now what would your fathers think if they heard you say that? - heinousjay, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2***** Gamestop. Seriously. They apparently don't like to sell product, only pre-orders. I now only walk in there to make them think I'll buy something, then I head to Target or Best Buy where they actually want my money.
- ericrous, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3For the last time, stop posting here, Senator Craig!
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -6/+8LOL.
Typical response. Yes, everyone's played it. They played it 10 years ago when it was "Generic FPS #2839"
I remember that ***** back in the days of the Matrix sequels if someone said they didn't like them, "Did you even GET it?" Yes, we got it... - Hoogs, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1It's fine, I figured they'd end it similar to the first game anyway.
- blahtastic, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Guitar Hero 2 for 360. It didn't instantly sell out, but they were hard to come by at the end of the week, and it lasted for a month or so.
- latova, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Heroic. It really depends on how you want to pace yourself, it could be anywhere in between 6-8 hours.
- KrazyKoala, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Um...you don't live in Quebec. A lot of the retailers ran out of the English version of the game, seriously who wants to play the French version (even if you are French)?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I went to a Gamestop midnight launch even though I hadnt pre-ordered, and they had 40 extra normal copies.
I was suprised to see that I was the only person who showed up without a preorder, figured there would be a few more. - dillibob, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1its a system seller
- geartype2, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1to be fair, I'm sure tons of people had no problems installing vista out of the box(uninstalling is a completely different matter).
- MasterShake07, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2My only gripes about the game are with Campaign. For one it was a little bit short. Only took me an a few friends 5 hours to beat Legendary. Also, I just got really sick of the whole "get to this point, then backtrack through the level to evac" way of setting up most of the levels. It just drove me nuts. The beginning was good, and the final driving sequence is the most fun I've had out of all 3 games.
- Hoogs, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Thanks for the spoiler.
