- dustysquareback, on 10/10/2007, -4/+67***** YES!!! There are also fire grenades. Awesome.
- oofgeg, on 10/10/2007, -5/+47Its amazing how every few days we get a new feature or weapon for this game.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -4/+35"M7057 Defoliant Projector". Take a look at that name - 7057? That's "toast" in leet-speek.
- Sairynn, on 10/10/2007, -3/+32Halo PC had both the flamethrower and the Banshee.
- jesushitler, on 10/10/2007, -5/+33This game is going to be fun as hell. The trash talking is picking up quite a bit at work. I can't wait to hump someone's flaming corpse, record it, and send it to them. September 25th can't come soon enough.
- The1337Dude, on 10/10/2007, -2/+30I can't wait to roast some Grunts.
- Lyanto, on 10/10/2007, -1/+26The 1 million people who have already preordered it would like to disagree with you, jackass.
- nreynolds, on 10/10/2007, -0/+21someone uncovered code that had the word "FLAMETHROWER" in it, but no one actually got to use it or see it.
- nreynolds, on 10/10/2007, -2/+21stupid blocks of text are hard to read so I'm gunna digg you down, but I noticed the gun the elite was holding too, no idea what it could be.
- GabingtoN, on 10/10/2007, -3/+19You mean, Tost? :P
- LordofChaosIori, on 10/10/2007, -2/+15If you said that in any other context the cops would be at your house in a heartbeat... not to mention It'd be completely psychotic...
- gypsi, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12how can you let a few cartoonish voices detract from the sheer realism of 1-man-tanks, purple aliens, sentient data streams and talking plants?
get over yourself, it's a ***** video game - a1532b, on 10/10/2007, -2/+14Gamers that have the inability to adapt = sux!
- zzz@tkz, on 10/10/2007, -5/+17You know Bungie is just sitting around (or sat, seeing as they are cleaning everything up now), saying "You know what would be ***** awesome?" and they put it in.
- imikedaman, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13I dunno, I prefer it to the Smash Bros. articles that announce things like "New playable character: BOWSER!!!!", as if that's news.
- Puppetfunk, on 10/10/2007, -5/+16I kind of liked the design of the one in the first game better. (Halo PC had it in multiplayer)
- Battleloser, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9That big one you submitted, don't be afraid to break it up into 2-3 sentence paragraphs.
- Dustmuffins, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11NUKES
- gypsi, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10I missed the part where someone was forcing you to read articles about it, let alone buy it
- LegendarySock, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9Not only "tost" but "mtost" which can be interpreted as "Mmmm... Toast."
I am ***** hungry. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Uh, I hate to break it to you but Halo 2 didn't have a flamethrower. Halo PC did, though.
- cainrok, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9If the banshee had tires ever before, no. But if they did now, YES.
- ElegantFiend, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8As long as I get to assassinate the Prophet of Truth this time around, I will be completely satisfied with my purchase.
- imikedaman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Once again someone tries acting holier-than-thou because they prefer PC FPS games. It's a matter of preference, not a status symbol. Just play the games you want to play and stop raining on everyone's parade.
- SSCrow, on 10/10/2007, -3/+11I saw this earlier today.
Its going to be awesome.
Between Spike grenades and Firebombs, I can't think of anything else Bungie could add that could match their awesome. - oflaherty, on 10/10/2007, -3/+11*****
- Ar5eNiC, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Except for the fact of that screenshot being from Halo 1 PC...
- GabingtoN, on 10/10/2007, -3/+11It looks like that because that's Halo's art style, which is a good change from all these games going for the uber realistic look. They aren't going for the realistic look of Crysis, or the gritty look of Gears of War / Killzone 2, it's just the Halo look :P
- estvir, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7It's the multiplayer map Snowbound which we could play in the beta, he's standing on top of one of the entrances to the tunnels but in MP I don't think it will look /that/ good because they turn off AA and other things so MP is as smooth as possible.
And of course, that perspective/field of depth is not how you play the game. - OverlordMC, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9I like it because I do, and if you don't like it thats fine. just shut the ***** up.
- agdtinman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6It is the game. Just with depth of field turned on, which is used quite a bit in cutscenes.
- tsteele93, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6He probably did break it up, then went back in and edited it. Then Digg makes it into one stupid block of text. At least it does mine. Digg has problems. Oh wait, I have to log in again. Yes, I have cookies enabled. Digg forgets who I am every couple of minutes. Digg needs work.
- BLyn, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Yeah but the PC version was a quick little add-in thrown in by gearbox to help sell copies. And the game never made proper use of it (all it was was a close range ineffective weapon that looked moderately cool).
This time around though it sounds as if bungie has put a lot of thought into making it effective and done right (i.e. making it unique in adding lasting burning effects for different gameplay, and making it so stuff can burn!...). I can't wait to see the effects of being inside a bubble shield while it goes up in flames on the outside. - tsteele93, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7The books were surprisingly good.
- tehpwnrate, on 10/10/2007, -4/+9It's only logical, in hindsight. I mean, you have this third-person carrying weapon viewpoint that we saw in the beta, and the flamethrower is meant to be held exactly like that. This looks AWESOME! Loved it in Halo CE PC.
- clos, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6doesn't make you move slower either on the PC....
- agdtinman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5If you actually read at it, and spent two seconds looking at that article you'd realize that's a Halo 1 PC screenshot they're looking at. The article only mentions that someone uncovered the code that had the word flamethrower.
nreynods was absolutely correct, and you're wrong. - supaklaw, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Sweet... even though in Halo CE the flamethrower would torch yourself half the time... it was hella fun. I hope they do what Marathon did and left a charred corpse after the kill, that was awesome.
- lowerlogic, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5God dammit private, shut your mouth or else I'll have Simmons slit your throat while you're asleep!
- Ramble, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Agreed.
There is a HL2 mod that has a flamethrower done correctly, you can expell the liquid on to the floor with the secondary fire and then burn it. It basically creates a flaming doorway and is such a great way to block the enemy from advancing. - Chris1280, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6What was that about. Microsoft after all has given us a lot of good things. Just because your PC sucks don't suddenly get annoyied at anything connected to them.
- Systematic1, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4there is a pistol..
- rishid, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Cannot wait to throw one of the fire bombs into a man cannon, it will be like napalm!
- Chris1280, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Quake was not that good. half life 2 was great though.
- Ramble, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I dunno if it counts but Splinter Cell had a great idea with the fireable cameras, shootable lights, etc.
- RiverBelow, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3The hype is that it has none of that.
You pick it up, party up with buddies, and PLAY. Thats it. Then when you play, its nonstop action fun. I prefer Halo 2 to Rainbow Six and Gears, to this day, regardless how BS some things are in Halo 2, its still better gameplay. - merrickx, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3A futuristic version of a MOLOTOV COCKTAIL! September is too far away.
- Chris1280, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I agree
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Umm, wouldn't you like catch yourself on fire if you were to tea bag someone's burning corpse?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5Halo 3 : the polygonal love triangle
