- screwzluse, on 10/10/2007, -2/+126Wow, that was actually an extremely impressive animation. Call spam all you want but it is definitely worth a look. I'm not even a fan of Halo and I spent about 20 minutes going through the entire thing. Very cool stuff.
- Javienn, on 10/10/2007, -6/+127The amount of detail and information in this is amazing. I'm also getting some great wallpapers thanks to the camera / screenshot function. Truly an innovative use of flash!
I know it's not popular with everyone, but I am really enjoying this ad campaign. - VegasKill, on 10/10/2007, -1/+112This is how marketing is done. Pure anticipation.
- bbaydar, on 10/10/2007, -4/+102This is one of the best ad campaigns I've ever seen for any product. That diorama is simply amazing, and I hope that it actually does go on tour.
- Gadren, on 10/10/2007, -11/+87Very emotionally powerful. I can't wait to see what the upcoming videos on it are!
- xnike2livx, on 10/10/2007, -0/+64This looks like it required a lot of GI Joes.
- knodi, on 10/10/2007, -4/+68Wow that was amazing. The Master Chief part when he looks up was bad ass.
- briansalo, on 10/10/2007, -1/+56**WARNING**
Not for those with a low monthly bandwidth allotment :( - Armor1901, on 10/10/2007, -5/+59Holy ***** that's ***** hot. I've never seen a game marketed so...WELL. Damn
- DewKnight, on 10/10/2007, -2/+55You may not like Halo 3, but they have some of the greatest marketing that anybody on this planet can do. Numbers don't lie.
- statiktv, on 10/10/2007, -13/+58kickass.
- strfiter, on 10/10/2007, -2/+47not to be unclassy, but holy *****...
- HouseofEl, on 10/10/2007, -0/+42I have to say that is one impressive piece of model work. I know this perhaps has nothing to do with the film. However, I find the direction they are going with this game marketing is the right path. I like Halo, but never bought into the idea that a film could be made without looking a bit cheesy. This stuff has made me feel much better. I love the sense of realism and applying this sort of tone to a Halo film would be pretty cool. Really get the emotion, chaos and personal side of war. Don't make a war film and don't make a game film. Make a hard combat film.
- DOCKAUF55, on 10/10/2007, -1/+34Yeah, that must've taken forever to make.
- Jordan117, on 10/10/2007, -1/+34These ads contain NO SPOILERS. Bungie reps have repeatedly stated that the creators of this marketing do not know what happens at the end of the game, and that this ad campaign is meant to be more of an evocative emotional piece to stir anticipation rather than a literal representation of part of the game. That goes for both the massive battle depicted in the diorama and the numerous allusions to humanity surviving the war. It's all speculation on the marketer's part.
- GruntGrunt, on 10/10/2007, -1/+32They went way into the story for this one, reading all the accounts and watching the videos made it feel real ... It reminded me of the veterans of past wars.
- SSCrow, on 10/10/2007, -1/+32This ad Campaign has made me weep a few tears.
Seriously.
Here is a Making of Video to compliment.
http://www.gametrailers.com/player/24952.html - HappyScrappy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+30The diorama is sweet. Ironic that a CG game is getting great mileage from not using any computer graphics here.
The 360 mode is a bit sketch at times, but that's okay. - smurf22, on 10/10/2007, -1/+26Seems like 2 more vids are coming.
- applemaggot, on 10/10/2007, -1/+25This definitely had the feel of a Ken Burns documentary meets Saving Private Ryan. I have never felt such emotion taking a "tour" through a game. Bungie, the first round is on me at Hectors in Kirkland!
- onlynameicanget, on 10/10/2007, -5/+27You're probably not impressed because you put in your actual age, and therefore were denied access.
- jpwhitmore, on 10/10/2007, -0/+21damnit! If this just doesnt force me to get a 360
- someguy9, on 10/10/2007, -5/+26finally a some what positive Halo 3 response... I visit n4g.com and all they do is bash 360 and is run by ps3 fanboys.
- Diggilas, on 10/10/2007, -1/+19I've never been so drawn in and emotionally moved by an ad campaign before. Bungie knows what they are doing without a doubt.
Simply incredible. - kindassassin96, on 10/10/2007, -1/+18wow. i guess Microsoft really does know its *****
- StaticRedux, on 10/10/2007, -0/+17then don't visit to n4g?
- IMADV8, on 10/10/2007, -1/+17Yes, there is a real war going on in Iraq. Yes, it's horrible, and yes, people should, and in most cases do, care deeply about those affected by it. But to drag it out and beat the issue to death every single time someone tries to discuss something else is senseless. Frankly, I'm sick and tired of hearing it. If you want to discuss Iraq or Bush or global warming or some other favorite issue, do it where it's relevant and on topic. Otherwise, shut the goddamned ***** up.
- martyFREEDOM, on 10/10/2007, -0/+143
- Dylson, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14I can't wait!
- LordPanda, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14Chopin's Raindrop Prelude Op. 28, No. 15
- iformacio, on 10/10/2007, -2/+14Yeap, I agree with you, this marketing reaches more than halo fans... I could probably show the museum video to my grandma and she'll start to cry.
- martyFREEDOM, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13So, was anyone able to find one Elite in that whole thing? I though they were supposed to be fighting with the humans this time around.
- HappyScrappy, on 10/10/2007, -2/+14I'm not a Halo fan. I won't be buying Halo 3 (and not just because my 360 died AGAIN and won't be back in time for launch). What I see in this is a cool model and some SPFX camera work following it. It's quite cool and although it doesn't make me want to buy the game (much like you), I can appreciate it as a neat model and web page.
- PRlME, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13theres a tank that shoots white cotton candy in there
- ggko, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12So too is Star Wars, Harry Potter, Star Trek, Shakespeare, Lord of the Rings, ...
- Donoram, on 10/10/2007, -2/+13A little disappointed that there are no references to the Sangheili (Elites). Other than that, this diorama is incredible. Not to mention the ad campaign going along with it. Good show.
- Hoogs, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11And whoever said fictional stories can't be emotional?
- 50pence, on 10/10/2007, -2/+13damn....
- cplex, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10The Master Chief is male. He's otherwise known as John-117.
- Hawk7886, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11What's that? Marathon: Durandal is available on the Xbox Live Arcade.

Good stuff. - Jibberwalk, on 10/10/2007, -3/+12You've gotta click on the text. I got routed back to the region selection a few times because I kept clicking the image. It isn't very consistent UI-wise at that part.
- mejusthavin, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10that 3D thing I think is inspired by this Webby award winning site: http://demo.fb.se/e/ikea/dreamkitchen/site/default.html
- unfanderful, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9NICE.
"was awarded every UNSC decoration except the Prisoner of War Medallion" hoo-rah - dyranios2, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9Hi can anyone identify the music being played? Thanks.
- imkrazy182, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9yeah, there are 3 more, 2 on the 25th and 1 more on Oct. 1
- theMurdocVolta, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11Never the less, the are powerful, and aw invoking
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -17/+25Halo 3 FTW!
- noblepenguin, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9you have to click on the words, not the map.
- Ricky8765, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Same here, I've barely played the Halo's but I definitely appreciate the workmanship that was put into this. It is an excellent way to get more people pumped about a game, creating a seemingly living and breathing world like that.
